Get ready Alsip residents. Once again your real estate taxes are on the move of course in the upward way, to the tune of apprx.5 percent. Why? No money for the pension funds, you know the funds that don't benefit anyone except our govt workers. Actually there seems to be no funds for anything. It seems we're out our money pertaining to JAWA and we owe several million dollars in unpaid bond monies. Look around water main breaks, streets and sidewalks that need replacing etc.. Also look at 111th & Cicero on the Oak Lawn side major development, our side a Fast Cash facility. No money for infrastructure but plenty for Village workers and our officials. Better start asking questions and attending village meetings, maybe you can make them last more than the 15 min average.

Again, another person who doesn't understand the pension system. When are people like yourself going to understand that pensions are just like Medicare and social security. They are all entitlement programs and when funded correctly, things are well. When abused and underfunded, there is trouble. Don't blame the pensions, blame government!!!!!!!

Sorry for the previous post stating no money for pensions in Alsip. Good news Alsipians, your taxes are going up but not the 5% I thought. Why not 5%, well it's because at that percentage the residents would have a say so and it would have to clear the board but at a lesser rate it just gets rammed through. Cute huh, not really though, it's just normal business at village hall. Oh,by the way you will also be on the hook for a new ambulance even though the old one still has a lot of life in it. But then firemen rule especially in Alsip. By the way, Mr Concerned Taxpayer those so called Entitlements you mentioned, not so. All those programs are being paid into by you and me.

What do u think people receiving pensions do??? They pay something like 10% of each check. And if you receive a government pension, they collect like an 1/8th or 3rd of what they should in social security, but pay fully like everyone else. Most of the police and firemen have a second job where they are paying into social security. Know the facts

All the family members I have that ate police and fire work second jobs. Not to mention the social security they paid into prior to getting their government jobs. Let me ask you this. Does a police or fireman deserve a pension?

Of course firemen and policeman deserve pensions as well as any other devoted worker but the problem (uninformed voters) is you. Voting for these same people over and over is the problem. They take our money and just spend. Start showing up at the village meeting and all you'll hear is what they have to spend never what they saved or what plans are coming to save your village or town some money. I'm sorry, I have just never heard anything about saving money, just spending and hiring more people when some jobs could be consolidated. Listen it's pretty sad when the median income in some villages hover around $45K and govt. employees are being paid twice that along with benefits by residents not making close to that shouldering the burden.

I apologize for my son James. He didn't get elected mayor and now trolls these boards trashing the very government systems he presided over at the park district and village hall. This is his way of healing, by trashing the people who voted him out for being a radical.
My son is another double dipper who will get two pensions, one union and one government.

You seem to have some sort of fetish or obsession with homosexuality... You can't stop fantasizing about what other men do behind closed doors. These thoughts usually stem from ones own (yours) latent homosexuality and repressed sexual feelings about others of the same gender. You should stop trolling these boards and look deep inside yourself.... you will most likely reconnect with the little gay boy you were as a child... A scared child who would do anything to hide the fact that all he really wanted in life was to love and be loved by strange men. Your welcome.
