Does anyone know what happened to the revenue collected for maintenance of these bridges? Are there any plans for repair or demolition of these bridges? Please tell me barricades is not the solution to this problem.

I don't know if there ever was a provision for maintenance (short sighted) or the money was used for other things (misappropriation) No plans for repair or demolition; either is too expensive. Barricades are the current solution. Nice to see you back, Bart, I enjoy your posts.

I hope the State has the sense to take over the bridges and reopen them.

Maybe you people would like to drive on those two bridges just as a cement mix truck is going over. That way you might get to go swimming. You wouldn't be alone. Your car, a cemnt truck and it's driver will swim with you in the icy waters until rescuers come and fish you out, dead or alive....stop complaining! They just might be closed because some really qualified engineers decided to protect us all.

the state had the bridges many years ago, however the powers to in B I at the time were dupes, and duped into taking over the bridges. The short-sidedness of the mayor did us all in. Do you think the state will now take them back. No, your bridge your problem. by the way B I, I have some swamp land if you are interested.

Someone stole the barricades, they announced at the last city council. The concrete barricades are still there.

You are reaching, that bridge has been closed for 30 years. If that bridge was open what would it be used for? That area should be used for recreational use. Fishing, hiking and bow hunting for deer would bring the kind of people this town needs.
