Unmarked City Vehicles

Exactly what is the City afraid of that they aren't marking City vehicles? Do they not want us to know how many they are handing out? Do they not want us to realize how little City business is actually carried out in them? Do they not want vehicles recognized when they are out of town? We have the fire department vehicle that is I don't know how many years old now, still not marked and this week I saw at least one other. Have to start looking closer at plates to keep track.
Our tax dollars at work.

It might be helpful if you indicated what city you are referring to. Topix likes to jam communities together at random, for instance I see tons of Blue Island posts even though I am in Oak Forest.

One of them belongs to our 'appointed'(not qualified) city administrator.

No idea why he needs an M-plated vehicle.

<quoted text>Probably the same reason the rest do; drive around and have us pay for it. Unbelievable. Let's just give one to everyone that works for the City. Why aren't they marked?
I really don't care so much about the vehicles being marked as much as the cost of the vehicles. I have no issue with the fire and police depts having 4 wheel SUV's which are a necessity in many situations. That can be justified.

But why does the city administrator need a brand new $40k SUV?? Where is he going that he needs 4WD?? What does he put in the back of the SUV??

Maybe the cost of his vehicle should reflect the average vehicle in this city.

In my opinion a $20k vehicle would be more appropriate for running around town, and more fuel efficient.

Wonder what the city will do with the "old" squad cars? Are we still paying insurance? Why not auction them off ,then maybe pave some streets instead of patching them (Reminds me of driving thru B.I.)

What a joke, old squads normally sell for a grand or less. Average street resurfacing somwhere around 90 grand, some as much as $300,000.00. You should check facts before looking like a fool.
