What a hoot. So much WRONG information. It's feeding time at the zoo again I see.

As for the Tom Dart stuff, I've said the same thing. I don't know why we don't call him in, but that's kind of the point too isn't it? We as the general public DON'T know everything that happened or is happening. We can't possibly know. I am quite certain from speaking with her on numerous occasions now that Sharon Ryback does in fact have the best interests of this town constant in the back of her mind. I believe from speaking to our trustees (most of them) that they are still in what I guess you'd call an "investigation stage" or something and that when they can tell us more they will. Perhaps Tom Dart will be called. Perhaps he won't. I just feel that as long as progress is being made and as long as the entire board (well save one) is willing to speak openly and candidly with anyone that asks, I'm content to believe they are doing what they think is best for right now.

I guess we just wait and see.

If she wants to impress me she would have to get rid of W. Gleason as legal rep and Ethics officer.

As a leader you should surround yourself with smart people that you can trust. Anyone that witnessed the hearings where they attempted to throw Sharon off of the ballot knows that W Gleason is pretty damn smart. He tore Terry's side up. Just because he has the Gleason name doesn't make him all bad. Give him a chance and lets see what the kid can do. I for one have been impressed so far.

It's just not smart to surround yourself and hire family and friends it's just not ethical anymore she will fall ,people in town are disgusted by her having the Gleasons up her butt. Gleasons always have had to have there noses in everything but believe me they are not liked by many many people in this town .

I thought W. Gleason was supposed to be a temporary appointment. Considering Sharon was forced off 228 due to the incompatibility of the offices of school board member and mayor, why should W. Gleason continue to serve. He also represents D228 and the village just like Sharon did. It may not be illegal but it is the exact same incompatibility. I sure hope the village board considers this issue very soon. The village is wasting it's money on patronage with him as our lawyer. The people in the village deserve an independent legal rep, not one beholding to the school board.

You are too funny. I was at the hearing and Gleason didn't know what he was doing. The man in charge of the hearing procedure as well as the attorney for the person who filed the petition had to explain to Gleason a number of things and more than once. You would think he would of been prepared but he wasn't. The petition was withdrawn which had nothing to do with Gleason and everything to do with the cost.

A lot of people work hard and make less money than they do. With their six figure salaries, they will be just fine cut to 30 hours, if it's even true. They're making big money for employees of a small village. When they are trying to live on what most of our residents live on, then they have room to complain. No one escapes the economy!

If you think the village employees are over paid, what do you think about Sharon and Evelyn's park district salaries ?

I noticed the Midlothian Park District updated their website. Unlike the villages website this update does not offer the compensation information for it's employees. This failure of a public body to be open with the public on these basic issues of compensation of all it's employees is what drives the folks that read newspapers to question their motives.

WildCats,
The village website does have compensation posted.

http://www.villageofmidlothian.net/Archive.as...

There are many references to it on the site, but the 2013 report won't be up until 2014 fiscal year starts.

I believe the poster, "Wildcats," was saying that the park district did not offer compensation info on their website, but the village did. Interesting though. Many are making a lot of money...too bad some of the ones that sit around and do not much at all make too much and the ones that put their lives at risk to save others and their homes and property are not paid much.

One sure way for the Mayor to silence her critics is to practice full disclosure in all her public duties. Until she posts the compensation for herself, E. Gleason, Gillis and the rest of the park district she will be seen as a phony looking to feather her own nest at the public's expense.

Quite right hmm. I read that wrong.

If you read this article, it appears our park district is not alone in not posting salaries online. However, given they do have online registration I don't see how hard it would be to put a simple PDF or XLS file up.

If we really want to know I guess we have to go there.
