Why does Dr. Kendall resist letting the public know what is really going on at Bremen 228. Not only does he hide why he allowed a Prima Donna BB coach to do as he pleased until coach made the papers, with a DUI, but now it takes FOIA requests from sitting board members to receive financial information. Shame on you Bill!

Why does 228 keep Kendall when he continues to fail to address the needs of the district? What has he done to keep the students of 228 competitive with the surrounding districts?, not to mention his ridiculous compensation package?

Reading the June 17 minutes from Bremen's school board meeting Kendall claims the FOIA request for Maniatis has been filled. This is very misleading as Kendall claims they do not have to release the charges that his board used when they voted 6-1 to fire Maniatis. This request is in fact pending a decision by the PAC office and Illinois AG. Bremen's school board is afraid of any lawsuit after they fired Mitchell for being gay while Evelyn Gleason was the president. Apparently under John Kirkton's leadership the behavior of rogue coaches will go unchecked lest he do his job as president.
With the board failing to act on the public's behalf it's no wonder Kendall feels he doesn't have to answer to anyone.

Reading the superintendent's contract posted on the BGA wesbsite, it says one of his three goal's is communication and relationships. The compensation side is extremely generous. It's discouraging that Kendall can't even satisfy this basic goal with his own board and yet we pay him $240k plus an $8400 bonus plus his retirement contributions plus medical/dental plus life insurance plus other benefits.
I think we can do better.

Why does the public think they have a right to know how the kids of Illinois are being used by the school systems (IHSA, ISBE and many more) to enrich the lives of the people running these ancillary organizations?
Maybe because when they went to school they paid attention in their civic's class and beleived that doing what's right by the people was what made the U.S. a great country.
