So I just was visited from a guy running for alderman that said I didn't have to vote for Vargas Hauser or Bilotto as long as I voted for him. He said he needed to ticket to run on but wont be voting for him too. He wanted me to put up a sign. My friend lives over on the west side heard the same.

I don't see anything wrong with what he is saying...Carmine Billoto did the same thing last election running on Paloquins slate...

He loathes going there just to remind Peloquin and company to do their jobs or answer questions the residents were asking him. I'm not gutsy as he is.

Say a name. You can come on here to state this "fact", but won't let the people reading topix know who this person is. Should'nt we as voters know this info if you think its important enough to start something like this?

Until a name is stated it is only hearsay.

Well that can only Hawley or Johansen. Carr isn't a "guy" and I can't imagine her going that route anyway. Jenko is unopposed. Donahue is an eastsider and Almazan is on the southside. Bilotto is also southside. Johansen and Vargas did go at it like 16 years ago or something when they ran against each other. I'm wouldn't vote for Johansen anyway - TOO OLD! Urban revitalization, especially in a small city, will not happen with senior citizens on the council.

Absolutely correct. It's only rumor mongering and BS that happens during election time. I also heard the same thing but it was a Potaska loyalist. I also was approached by a Potaska loyalist when I voted at Calumet Township with a oddball palm ticket that had Vargas name on the top but Potaska & his party members names under it? What's that about?

Hawley is running unopposed why would he "claim" he needed to join a party? Maybe he was told by Rita that if he did not join the "BIIP" they would run a candidate against him.......Mr. Hawley made the wrong decision he should have stayed a true independent that's what I admired about him.

That's one of the tactics of seasoned politicians: scare/run a fake opponent. So if you have no bones you'll go for what one would call "Marriage of Convenience".. The other I in BIIP? It's not Independent, but you may fill in the blanks: Blue Island I---- Party.

You never really knew Tom Hawley and admired him if you think that because he has joined a group of great people he is shutting off his Independent switch. Wake up jobs for votes and understand what it is like to be a contributing member to your community.

If you take money from Bob Rita, you work for Bob Rita, not your voters.
