What happened to money

Blue Island, IL

The current Mayor Vargas has been part of the problem for over twenty years. While Alderman and Mayor Pro-Tem, he refused to appropriate the necessary monies to repair the bridges. Just last April when he ran for Mayor, he and State Rep Bob Rita lied to the voters, saying the money was available and the bridges would be open last year. Bob Rita continues to neglect the 28th district, all he is worried about, increasing gaming licenses in Illinois.

Where is the $500,000 State Representative Bob Rita helped secure?

Where is the IDOT; partial funding to reopen the bridges?

It is obvious, Mayor Vargas, Bobby Rita and their Alderman are liars. All Bobby is concerned is another pension, and another no show job. All Alderman must be voted out of office April 2015.

Bingo! This is not Rita's 28th district and he is trying to take credit for this. He forgot about his own district, he can be beet in November.

.....Hey, Hey, Hey

These elected officials must be held responsible for their action or lack of action.
Exposure, Exposure, Exposure!

Anyone figure out where the money's been stashed or where it went?

What a joke Senator Rita. I just laughed at the ABC report. If they think they are fooling anyone.......Yes and Vargas was part of the Peloquin administration and did nothing. All a bunch of crooks.

At the intersection of Reality Road and Political Way; we find the same elected officials who promised to get the bridges open more than a year ago have in fact actually done; Nothing.

The focus should be on getting strong candidates and a strong network ready to run against the Rita/Vargas democratic organization for upcoming elections rather than spending a lot of energy complaining on things that are not being done and won't be done ... We have been lied to ... Actions speak louder than words ! Our community deserves leadership that is qualified and committed to improving the quality of life and services to our beloved community. A leader that is forthright. A leader that will build the coalitions on the diversity of our town. We don 't have that and were duped into thinking the BIIP would work to best represent our constituents. Time for a REAL change!

Closed Bridges, pot holes, broken water mains, poorly maintained municipal buildings and departments speak loud and clear. Blue Island Voters were duped on election day and the elected block voting for appointees, no bid contracts, or the Madigan connections and unqualified continue to waste the few taxpayer dollars available. Old habits die hard. Blue Island has not been able to escape their Mayor Pro Tem Vargas who has no answers or real plan.

You have an amazing amount of illegal aliens in your community. Did you know that? I lived there from 1978 to 1987 and it was bad then. I still go back now and then and can't believe the condition of the place. Beggars, bums, trash, and mostly blacks and Latinos. Where is your tax base? It went to Indiana along with your jobs. The bridges aren't needed. The wetbacks can swim you know.

Relax!!! Once Rita seats his next 7 alderman and then his real candidate (not Vargas) wins the next Mayoral election, the bridge will be opened. He needs the personal credit for getting the bridge open.

You are posing a threat that will never happen. The voters are awake now. It is Vargas, Hawley, Heuser, Billotto and Rita that will pay dearly in the next election. It will be their family and friends grappling for jobs. I saw it happen when Peloquin won and I will see it again.

Through out his career as an elected official; Blue Island Mayor Domingo Vargas failed to maintain the two Blue Island city owned closed Chatham and Division Street bridges. During his 20 plus year tenure as Mayor Pro Tem and 7th ward Alderman; Domingo Vargas consistently neglected both bridges.

Blue Island are you ready for change? Many complain but we need the majority to vote and keep active during off elections years and bringing up concerns and issues that our so called elected officials don't do. The people in charge know this and that is the problem. It would hard for an independent to run because the majority who vote sadly to say are the same ones who vote for the people who are there already. Blue Island voters don't just complain be active and make the changes in this bankrupt city.

We all know who NOT to vote for. A strong candidate that can stand up to Vargas and the Rita's will win in a landslide. Stevo needs to give it a rest and just run for alderman. His representation and voice will be heard and he will be able to challenge bad decisions. This next election will be an easy win.
Strong Independents

Strong Independent Candidates need to begin campaigning NOW. Blue Islanders and taxpayers are complaining NOW. The BIIP party has failed to deliver anything other than more jobs for the Friends and Family Plan that includes appointments and no bid contracts, that everyone on the short end of the stick are sick of. Indeed; they are worse than the Coalition Peloquin Party they campaigned so hard against.
