Do these idiots in public government NOT KNOW that their emails are subject to FOI? It certainly appears they knew their arrest was coming.

Thats nothing compared to the enormous amount of spamming and reposting about this story on the patch site. The OF editor obviously loves this story so much its all he can post about, even though the only useful information he gets is when he steals it from the Southtown Star, tribune, or other site.

Plagiarist.

I still cannot process all of this information, they knew this was coming up at city hall? These folks both had the Debit/Credit card to spend the money, but one of them is innocent the other is not? Public Officials don't always get money directly from the checking account of a taxing body, but have ways of getting it in other ways - Kick backs from contractors or the like - hasn't that happened before in OF?

Just really too strange for this small of a community, and some will be for and others will be against! Just shows the odd truth about this community!

You are right, and the kickbacks, those are probably the things that won't ever come to light.

Folks used to be able to brag about their new job, cash, donations, gifts, roof, garage, free electrical work, lawn service, home bottled water. Ah, those were the good old days.
Now these services (criminal activities) go on more quietly even though they remain obvious to anyone with eyeballs.

Many folks believe the good old boy system is alive and well. Pointing to this as example of the corruption that impacts this town. In wondering about all the information and all the email reactions to this event, it sure still shows that if they can hide it all they do, but as emails show maybe they don't hide it all that well, since once it happened all the emails went back and forth.

Oak Forest sure has a deep history in politics and doing it all for the politicians and not for the Taxpayers!!

We will surely see if the good ol boy system is alive and well if and when any decision is made on replacing the deputy chief. Will they look at education, seniority or who backed who politically?

Oh My, reading this about the email blitz again, sure sends signals that a great deal of folks have had some knowledge about these events earlier than our government folks seem to be telling us? Campaign donations or not is this really how Oak Forest is viewed by other communities? If so it really does not paint a rosy picture about this community! I love the one that says, "I guess the s*** has hit the fan." That really is just an under statement at best!

Maybe all the campaign donors will go under ground for a while, or as the TV shows always say, "Until the heat is off!" Government in Illinois, sure is a great game that is played!

Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Does it make it right? Or does this further point to what is wrong with Cook County and Illinois in general?

That does tell an interesting story. I believe a relative of Linear Electric is an electrical inspector. How many other examples like this are there. Why did he make donations to the schools?
