on april 22 2014, posen city council appointed Don Schupek to the post of Local Liquor Control Commissioner (salary $ 8,500). When asked what his dutys would be, he had no answer. When asked about the $8,500, he went into a rambling story, about his long hours at the office (behind LOCKED DOORS), how people call him at home, stop him in resturants, or at church to ask why the village is being run so poorly ! That when he goes to meetings with the South Suburban Mayor and Managers Association he found out that this is what many of the Mayors do to increase their salarys. That wether or not the the village is going to HELL at an alarming speed , or that " That the village is broke , SORRY we can not fix any of the problems !", he can find money to give himself a salary increase of nearly 60%. That my friends is truly a SHAME of the highest degree. Also it was discussed how Don is GIVING FREE RENTAL space to one of the TRUSTEES to run a business across the street from the village hall ! this discussion was ABSOULTY REDICULIOUS !!!! the only excuse missing was that somehow it was going to bring about WORLD PEACE!!! PLEASE , I INVITE EVERYONE TO COME TO A MEETING THEY ARE HELD ON THE SECOND AND FOURTH TUESDAY OF THE MONTH 6:30 pm MAYBE JUST MAYBE THEY WILL TELL US MORE ABOUT HOW TAX DOLLARS ARE MISUSED!!!
Just a guess

Are Don and Dolly Jacobs involved in any of this? They may have some money stashed.

"Posen" Don was not appointed to anything on Tuesday. Any of our mayors have always been the liquor commissioner. He just voted himself a nice raise of his salary... As the lawyer for the village said, they did it this way because he can't vote himself a raise to his salary in his current term. He would have had to wait to collect if they attached it to his salary. On one hand he said he likes being mayor, because he wants to do it but on the other hand he is looking for more money for doing his job that he agreed to when he ran again. It is kind of like a baseball player signing a contract and want to renegotiate 1/2 way through that term....According to Jeff, he thought we were in financial trouble, but Angelito kind of poo-pooed it. Who knows with that board. They don't even know....I would like to see an actual committee meeting like we used to have, where there was an actual discussion of the workings of the village.. People's opinions voiced. Not just reading the agenda, and we are done is less than 5 minutes. When does the actual talk of running the village happen? Where is the discussion of anything? Behind closed doors is where it happens, or after they close the committee meeting, like they did on Tuesday. Both are wrong IMO. They are just interested in their paycheck. Nothing more and we, the people in Posen, give it to them. Without question. Pretty sad if you ask me.
