If you are going to point fingers, you better make sure you know all of the facts. Chicago Ridge Mayor Chuck Tokar, is not married, so maybe you are the one who should ask God for forgiveness, since it is you who is spreading lies about your neighbors.

Say this over and over...
1. The political system is so illogical and corrupt that no respectable person should have anything to do with it; or
2. The political system is so illogical and corrupt that all respectable persons should sacrifice their time and efforts to clean it up; or
3. The political system is so illogical and corrupt that this respectable person will run for office with expert legal advice from the very beginning of (and throughout) his or her campaign in order to be elected to change the system.

scheming, sweetheart, bid rigged, contrived, concealed, convoluted

End of an Era

Mayor Robert "Bobby" Tufts hasn't made it to preschool yet, but he's already been elected twice as mayor of a tiny tourist town in northern Minnesota. Mayor Tufts' name was picked Sunday Aug. 4, 2013 during annual Taste of Dorset festival to be mayor of Dorset for a second term.
It has no formal city government and has a population of 22 to 28, depending on whether the minister and his family are in town.
It's the end of an era for five-year-old Bobby Tufts, who served two terms as mayor for Dorset, Minnesota. Tufts was re-elected as mayor last August and will be succeeded by 16-year-old Eric Mueller, according to NBC. Bobby's mother Emma posted the announcement of his term's conclusion on her Facebook page Sunday.
As part of an unconventional election process, Dorset residents elect the mayor raffle-style by collecting $1 per paper bid and then combining them in a hat. The town, which has about 11 businesses, dubbed itself "Restaurant Capital of the World," according to its website.

Maybe we should be just like that beautiful Village of Calumet Park where they have Part-Time Firefighters and the Mayor gets paid $15,000. In the Friendly Village of Worth, the Mayor gets $35,349 AND they have a Fire District. The Mayor for the other end of that Fire District in Palos Hills makes $28,000 in Salary. In Palos Heights where they have a fire district the Mayor of Palos Heights makes $6,000 in Salary
You mentioned that we should do things like they do in McCook and that might be a great idea for a structure – part time firefighters AND a Full Time Mayor who makes $55,694 in salary. Heck even in Bedford Park where they have full time firefighters the Part-time Mayor makes only $17,000
Maybe that is the way to go in the Ridge…pay the firefighters less AND pay the Mayor less. Maybe we need to get the Mayor in line with all of these other communities. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Mayor Tokar has been the Village Budget Officer for almost 25 years. Why then has he never reported that he was letting the Pension Funded Ratios for all three pension funds fall to below average levels? Why haven’t his friends, the Village Auditors ever reported that he has allowed the Police Pension Fund to fall to a funded rate of 42%? Is this why he needs to stay on as the Budget Officer? So that he can continue to cover this up?

The BGA found at least three other Cook County suburbs – Chicago Ridge, Forest View and McCook – are exploring or have already picked a cost-saving alternative to a municipal-run fire department. Rising pensions costs and concerns that precious state revenues could be garnished has brought the towns to this point.

Chicago Ridge and Forest View are weighing the benefits of joining a fire protection district, or paying a neighboring town to provide the emergency service, among other options.

It is impossible to respect such a corrupt whack-a-mole. Corruption undermines the legitimacy of government and such democratic values as trust and tolerance. We can't even move out any more because of the way he has wrecked our property values. Some leadership.
