After reading the tribune article yesterday about a federal investigation regarding one of our officers, I am dismayed to find out today that he is not put on administrative leave. If I have to call the police, I do not have enough confidence in this officer to come to my aid. Is anyone else bothered by this?

That's not really true. I don't have to break the law to need the assistance of an officer. He can't be trusted and should be on leave.

They make exceptions only for high maintenance cops who cause trouble or kiss up. Ask the Board about the new law they passed for transferring. They make rules for specific people and hope for future favors. Mayor and Chief are one in the same. You can't feel safe when they will let anybody wear a uniform.

The officer is now on leave pending an outcome. Thank you to whoever had the balls to finally do something about it.

Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty??
I wonder if we are now operating with less law enforcement in his absence or are we now paying overtime for someone else to cover his job.

People don't think about that, they just want someone to lynch. I just wish the people who complain had to be an officer for one week, they would come out with a new perspective on the job.

I don't think it's about trying to lynch someone as much as its about public confidence and protection for the accused. Look at it this way, he pulls someone over and that person has read the article in the trib. They antagonize him because they have a pre conceived notion that he is easily engaged. I think it's best for all that he lay low for a while. How can that be a bad thing?

So who are the other cops or ex cops that the FBI is looking into? What about the lies that are being told by the ex chiefs who say they never received any complaints against any of their officers? What about the officers that like to threaten village residents?

Why not ask one of the 2 ex police chiefs why he had a camera system put in the station while he was on vacation in Florida? Was that really to protect the police officers or was it because he was getting complaints back in 2011? A village resident paid for the camera system, DMC security installed the system in 2011 when the complaints were coming in.

I am a 50 year old woman.
I called the station and complained about how poorly I was treated after a traffic accident by "Dick Tracy" only to be verbally abused by the officer in command that evening. I also complained about how unbelievably biased he was with the accident investigation. you see, Dick Tracy knew the druggie burn out kid in the other vehicle. Guess who got the ticket? Then they followed around town the next day as i had to pay my tow fees and arrange for my car to be towed to the body shop, trying to intimidate me?
I tell everyone -stay the hell out of midlothian !

I hope Dick Tracy is one of the ones being investigated!
