Revamping the insurance? If by revamping you mean trying to take away legit insurance and replacing it with some bull shit that is barely considered insurance then you are absolutely right. The insurance they were trying to offer was so bad it was a direct violation of the police and fire union contracts, to which several board members stated they didn't even know the police and fire departments had unions... really?? Once they realized the ramifications of implementing said "revamped insurance" the whole idea was dropped until next year. But really, A+ for trying to screw over the employees who protect and serve Midlothian!

I hope the Village's liability insurance is in full force.
Some of the employees who protect and serve Midlothian are in the mists of lawsuits.
I am more concerned about the taxpayers liability...Village employees are replaceable.

No my story is not wrong at all. Yes, they are offering comparable insurance NOW after they got their assess handed to them by the unions. And yes, certain board members said they did not know their were police and fire unions. But thank you for acting like you know everything about the situation. And to the other person who responded to my comment, all you people do is sit on this site and blame the cops for everything and talk about how horrible they are and Bitch and piss and moan... if you can do a better job and know how to do their job so well why are you not a police officer? shit, why not just run for mayor!? You'd have a real good shot!

Your story is wrong honey. No board members said they weren't aware that there were unions involved and they are offering very comparable insurance so get used to the fact that changes are in effect and move on. It's happening to everyone. Thank obamacare and quit trying to blame the local officials. They are doing the best possible for all involved.

One of his "little projects" was a very shady land deal between himself and Murawski that they made to give Tom and Vinnie a little extra back yard. As soon as Rybak took office neighbors started complaining about the deal those two idiots made and it was discovered that the deal wasn't been brought to the board but made behind closed doors. The street that Vinnie and Tom tried to make their own backyard was never even vacated! Undoing all of their little "deals" has taken considerable time. Even now they haven't let it go and have continued to hound her about it. She has revamped the insurance and been dealing with contract negotiations with both police and fire. She is actively working on economic development and talking to several businesses about coming to town. There is plenty going on that we the residents don't always see. Does that help you any?
A little. Since you have some insight which businesses is she talking to and any news on 147th and Cicero?

<quoted text> So what has the "new regime" done? I am not talking about the village employees she ran off or fired. What has she actually done for the village? I haven't seen anything yet. My sense is she is in over her head and seems to be going in circles until someone tells her what she should be doing
anybody would be over their head in this job. The previous clown has left this place a mess.

most of the officers that complain about working in Midlothian either came here after being forced to leave other departments, barely passed the academy, came here for more money, or have attempted to go to other departments and were rejected. Yet they still complain they have to work here when they really have no other choice and should be happy they have a job. Shame on Midlothian for giving them a chance. I am curious how many on the department actually even live in town? Seems they might care more if they did.

Maybe working for a department where the deputy chief is under federal indictment is what's keeping other towns from hiring guys from midlothian.
