<quoted text>Wait a minute! This is totally completely On the raider coaches. Think about what you just said!! Do you really think i sat there and watched???? This is the only game I ever missed because of schedule conflicts with another child. I sent my kid to an away game with another family on the team. If I had been there ... Trust me there would have been a much different outcome!!!!!!

No phone call from the coaches -no ambulance called nothing!!!! Total Irresponsible coaching!!!

If a kid if hurt in practice or a game that is their responsibilty to get that kid medical attention. How many kids are just dropped off for practice? Or show up with out parents??? The one and only game I don't attend- this happens!!

Never Never trust them to do the right thing- they only care about winning!
Isn't this why you fill out emergency contact information??? So they can call you if something happens

Unbelievable . I really cannot believe all the bull corn I've been reading. First of all OFHS has a great football program . The coaching staff including coach Mac. And for the bleacher coaches......do you really know that game? Yes when your kid was playing on the Raiders you had every chance to volunteer your time to help coach . Instead you dropped you kid off just like having a cheap baby sitter 3-4 times a week. And did you ever take time to help your kid improve...... Most likely not! Raiders is great program. There are a lot of individuals giving up their free time to teach your child how to play the team sport of football. They are teaching the kids the basics which will aid in their future if the wish to play football later in life.
Back to OFHS , did you know that this years varsity team is mostly Junoirs . Most of last years team were the graduating 2013 Senoirs. So coach Mac has a young team to work with and he's doing his best . Next year this team most likely will be awesome. The coach calls the plays. It's up to the players to make the blocks, to adjust , to run the routes and to play as a team with spirit and respect.
Go Bengals. Go Raiders.

As a matter of fact..... I volunteered and for boys soccer, girls soccer, girls traveling soccer, boys traveling soccer, baseball, travel baseball, wrestling, gymnastics, bengal football, and Bengal poms. At times my volunteer hours were about 40 hours a week. That in addition to my 50 hour plus a week job! and yes I inquired about raiders- but they never got back to me!

So to insinuate I am some sort of a slouch looking for free baby sitting - you are dead wrong.

As I stated before this is the only football game I ever missed of my sons and I have literally hundreds of videos of all my kids sports events to prove it. So get off you high horse and stop twisting the story to fit your Agenda.

I have absolutely no respect for the 5 raider coaches of my sons team because they do NOT deserve it Other parents should know about their incompetence do they can protect their children from these clowns

They are a bunch of know nothing, underachievers trying to be somebody!!!

I still have medical bills that were not reimbursed. The head coach never returned my phone calls. And most disturbing - my son has life long effects because of their incompetence

Oh but I do give the chicken sh*** some credit - they had the " Team Mom" call
Me and ask if my son would be returning before the season was over.

I have shared my sons story with many many people in recent years and will continue to do so.
And believe me I name names !!!!

I was recently talking with my Son who is a OFHS graduate and former all conference team member, 4 year starter. We were discussing the performance of the teams in recent years.

We both fully support Coach Mac and his decisions. The plays may be the same year to year but they work The kids change at "all" schools year to year so why are the newest group of kids struggling ???

My son cited the feeder team as the weak link!! LMAO

If this is a true story then Why did you not file a complaint with the police or DCFS? This sounds like child abuse.
I have heard many story's about sports teams and there coaches in Oak Forest but never this one. Please give names of the 5 coaches if you really care about helping other families.

Why would a youth Feeder Program be the weak link? Not sure what you or your kid are getting at here? For many years the kids in the youth program were recruited by (yes I will say recruited by) the Catholic High School Teams and many of those kids went to schools like - Mt. Carmel, Providence, Br. Rice and Marist. Oak Forest High School has done a great job trying to keep these kids in the Community High School, but as many have pointed out, kids grow and change, so if you look at that situation, these kids have great choices for high school, but many will only play that far and no farther, so stop taking your shots at these kids or coaches, each year is a new year and the kids have to compete. The Sophomores at OFHS are having a great year, so with the young kids on varsity and the Sophomore class there will be many difficult decisions for positions next year also. Remember you can only place 11 players on the field at one time!

The high school has had much success, but no state finals appearances, so what, that takes skill, but also some luck. Most high schools in Illinois don't place D1 Athletes into college programs, that means even the Mt. Carmels, St. Rita's and others, but we have seen some folks from our community accept scholarships lately, that is great but not many young high school athletes have the God Given abilities of a Tevin Coleman or a Nick Weishar, those abilities are not so much taught as available for coaches to bring out! Remember, you cannot coach speed or size, you either have it or not! I really like watching these high school athletes competing, it is a good thing to watch their passion and dedication, don't dirty their efforts with some crazy rants!

I also like the plumber references, but remember plumbers have to deal with more of this shxxt every day than any of the folks on this sight would ever do! Watch out for the sewer mice!!

If you think the Raider coaches did such a poor job with handling what happened with your son, why not go to other members of the Raiders and bring it forward? Did you try talking with people from the board and not just his coaches? Because I am willing to bet that if you did you would still not be upset since they would have handled it the way that it should have been done.

Feeder program as the weak link? HAHAHA so what you son thinks that the Flag program has kids more prepared for high school football than the Raiders did?

I have neither played for the Bengals or Raiders (I did play for Bremen and the Midlothian Wildcats MANY years ago). I know Coach Mac and find him to be a very nice guy. He is also a good coach who has the respect of his players. My issue is with his play calling. He does not call plays that exploit the weakness of his opponent. As I mentioned in an earlier post, he ran our backs up the middle against Lemont when our linemen could not move their tackles but when Tevin Coleman took the ball outside, he would gain several yards per carry and only touched the ball 5 times in the game. Last week against Bremen, our wide receivers were taller and faster than Bremen's defensive backs but rarely had the ball thrown their way. I understand the QB is new (he is listed in the program as a WR) but they need to work on some passes in practice to run different plays! The few passes the threw worked well!

So what I think I have learned after 50 different hits on topix is Bengal fans like Coach Mac, they just wish he would open his mind to some different plays and football fan thinks Coach Mac is the best, but hates the Raider program, 5 coaches and doesn't have much respect for Plumbers.
Interesting!

No I don't get your drift. How long ago did this incident happen? I have been involved with Raiders for over 10 years in many roles and I know if had been brought to my attention things would have happened differently but you just keep blaming his coaches if that is what makes you feel better.

So Football Fan , you’re claiming that your child was knock unconscious while playing in a game for Raiders and you didn’t even get a phone call ? So as you say, that’s the game you missed. The big question is where the hell did you get all the info regarding this incident . Do you really think any coach in football is going to play a kid that was totally laid out on the field in front of everyone that was watching that day? Sounds like you’re dishing a lots of Bull Crap here . Maybe your kid got his bell run from a hard hit and he sat out for a few plays . When the coach asked if he was Ok to play he probably said yes whether , it was peer pressure , scared or by his decision . The concussion issues in contact sports was not a really issue until the about 4 years ago. Football in any levels did not recognize the potential long terms affect. However is a player was knock out is a game.. No coach at any level will put that player back in the game. Matter of fact the protocol for an unconscious player is medical attention.
One thing lady that you need to understand is that the kids are taught the proper way to tackle . One thing that is pointed out day after day is “ don’t put your head down and use it as a battering ram”“head up always during a tackle. I played football for 6 years and coached youth football for 4 years. So I know what goes on and what to watch for.

"one thing Lady that you need to understand" ??
Who the F do you think you are??

I never said Who I was, princess.....

Apparently some coaches don't think they have to follow protocol. I guess they think they are above that.

You ask "where the hell did I get all this information"
That evening, I got all the info from the parents that drove my child to and from the away game. And yes all the families in the bleachers sat there and watched! I spoke with many of the families through out the next couple weeks -they confirmed what happened. Even the parents of the kid - that hit him helmet to helmet. My son remembers waking up and coaches from both team gathered around him. The adults involved decided they needed him back in the game so they could win

This was no secret- everyone was talking about. Everyone knew the details of how it happened and the effects it was having on my son medically

I mentioned they had the team mom call and ask if he was coming back that season - they knew what they did was wrong. She knew his on going medical issues from the concussion

By the time my son was driven home -after he played with the concussion and after the game ended it was apparent I needed to call an ambulance

He was taken by ambulance from Oak forest after retuning home from the away game- because they did not provide any medical attention!!!

I have an ambulance bill from that evening. Within an hour of that game ending.
I have an ER Bill from that Evening. I have bills for the tests at the hospital that evening. I have follow up appt bills with neurologists confirming a severe concussion. I have bills from our physician for follow up appt for 12 months- I have bills from optometrists and I HAve the claim forms the raiders mailed me (after repeated messages) from their insurance carrier- along with letters from their insurance company!! So don't tell me this didn't happen

You say No coach at any level will put a kid back in a game after being knocked out.... You've coached for a whopping 4 years!!!

Mr Know it all- you don't know it all !!! You don't know what your talking about

ask a couple of the old guys what they did to my son - lets hope he is the only one this happened to so there shouldn't be any confusion

Yeah I heard about this Sue Sheehy in another youth organization. She was kicked off the board for not doing her responsibilities and causing problems with her big fat mouth. No one wants to talk or be near her anymore because of her mouth. She needs to grow up and show a better example to her kids.
