The nicest thing anyone has said about Bob Streit lately is that he is passionate about politics
in Oak Lawn. Passion is one thing. Integrity is another.

Other comments have ranged from the unprintable to things like, "isn't he the guy that lost by 10 Thousand votes in a Mayor Election?
He's a man child that has placed himself in the spotlight for twenty years by arguing with every Mayor and Clerk and most of the Trustees that he has served with.

He called longtime Mayor Ernie Kolb more names than one child can call another on a playground during a whole school year. So Streit organized his own “Barstool Rebellion” and he ran for Mayor against Kolb. That was the 10 thousand vote shellacking. He also disliked longtime Village Clerk Jayne Powers too. So, when she ran for Mayor, Streit "backed" former State Representative John McNamara, who he had previously detested.

In recent years, he worked with the current reformers to undermine former Mayor Dave Heilmann but Heilmann soon became an ally. He became so unpopular in his own District that he nearly lost his last election to the Village Board to a write-in candidate.

In all those battles it appeared that Streit was fighting for the outsiders like himself. He ranted about documents that weren’t produced, decisions that appeared to be made before the meeting, and
"politics as usual".

Streit never has stopped rewarding His biggest supporters but he now finds himself on the outs with former pal Burt Odelson. At this stage, in Streit’s career, after burning all the bridges, switching local alliances and changing major political parties Streit finds himself without that many pals to support him. Oh woe is he.

One nice thing about Streit is that he has never promised a change of Oak Lawn’s political fighting, lack of ethics, back room deals or internal corruption. He thrives on all four. He is passionate about them.

Seems to me Tommy/Andy are finding a new venue now that the Patch is no their voice.

Switch out the names and it can apply to either of them too.

Best thing for Streit is if it becomes a 3 or 4 horse race next election. He will be in trouble with a one on one. He is like a reality TV show that has been on to long and people are just tired of it. Same thing over and and over again.

Is there any doubt in anyone's mind that Bob and Dennis are behind all of that swill posted on that e-magazine? Bob does not cut a very sympathetic figure in most of Oak Lawn. He made a lot of money with this ridiculous and leaching electrical aggregation business and he plans to spend it all on his village trustee election. Dennis is so maniacal he was willing to put his law license in jeopardy in the past helping Bob. For what guys? Why don't you just go play paintball or G I Joes or something.

When Streit was the Worth Township Republican Committeeman and he organized the "Barstool Rebellion" and he led his majority against Mayor Kolb, he trashed any opposition with enthusiasm. He was a joyful tyrant. He relished the controversy. Now he is on the outs. He is playing a victim card. His employee is outed as a blogger for his trashy but self-described "objective" Blog site and his BFF is also outed as the owner of the Blog and it is the Patch's fault somehow because all of this becomes public? Where do all the anonymous leaks come from in the Blog? When did Bob become Democrat anyway?

Bob makes a terrible and not-very-believable victim. Even when losing by 10-1 to Mayor Kolb when he ran for mayor he remained arrogant. He is not somebody to get into a life raft with. He ain't no hero. Good Bye Bob. Your going away party will be something to remember.

Broader mindsets and successful operations of prior commitments should be studied and evaluated to devise a new plan for moving forward as technology becomes rapidly available. The advancements in today’s technology give operations answers to problems that seem to be unrecognizable by many. Those who do not see the possibilities for advancements might miss the spark of a new direction from these possibilities.
