Neither a pat down or radiating a child is a viable option.

This is really a horrible decision being forced upon parents today who have enough to deal with.

If these parents would call their Congressman and complain, which would take 30 seconds, maybe we could get an intelligent solution to airport safety.

There are plenty of Congessman willing to fight the battle if you give them your support.

Oh, for heaven's sake -
If parents and people are worried about the effects of going through the scanner for an occasional flight, then they should not be even flying! It is SO MINIMAL compared to what you receive actually flying!
This is scanner "radiation" is SO overblown and uninformed people are panicking about it without looking at the facts.

Robert J. Barish, a radiological and health physicist in New York City said:

"Most people are unaware about the fact that there is significant radiation exposure associated with air travel because they are well above the Earth's atmosphere. You'd get as much radiation in a whole-body scanner as you'd get in two minutes at 30,000 feet."

And UCSF scientists say the radiation levels may be unsafe and that children in particular may be more susceptible to skin cancer.

Children, pregnant woman, people with compromised immune systems, people who are genetically unable to repair DNA X-ray damage may all be at increased risk of getting cancer.

I'm not willing to take that chance. If you are, go through the machine all day long.

No one can say the scanners are safe because no one knows the amount of radiation coming from the beam.

There is no such thing as a safe dose of ionizing radiation.

I trust people with Ph.D.'s who are biophysicists and biochemists and have nothing to gain from sounding the warning alarm about the scanners over statistics released by the company who makes the scanners.

To characterize this as a "pat down" is absurd. It is a full-on GENITAL GROPE. And getting irradiated is not an option. It WILL cause cancer in a small percentage of people, so saying it is "safe" is not exactly true, especially if you are the one getting cancer from it.

This is not a choice. Plus, it would not have stopped the underwear bomber anyways because he put the bomb chemicals up his wazoo, which cannot be detected by either the scanner or the grope.

Dogs could stop any explosives from getting on a plane, but the former head of the TSA and George Soros wouldn't be making gazillions of dollars on that. Hmmmmm. And even that wouldn't stop checked bags, which aren't security cleared, either.

This isn't about keeping us safe, because it WON'T.

Read the 4th Amendment, people.

The conversation is easy.

"See the people in light blue shirts? Remember how we talked about police officers being helpful and nice? They're not police officers, if one of them touches you scream."

The very concept of a minor being fondled by an adult just to fly on an airplane is infuriating. Such a thing has no security value, the only thing it enforces is subjugation and teaches kids it's ok for the man in uniform to touch you "for your saftey" or even more disturbingly is the training TSA agents receive to tell the child it's a "game" which is a time honored favorite of pedophiles everywhere if you've ever glance at a psychology book.

This terrorism fear is a joke. It's pretty hard to find a terrorist in the US unless they were trained by the FBI. The guy caught in Portland Oregon this last week was "trained" by the FBI for 18 months before they gave him the fake bomb to blow up pioneer courthouse square during the xmas tree lighting . I'm just thankful that the FBI didn't give him a real bomb to blow up like they did during the 1993 WTC bombing, I wasn't there but I was thinking about going.

"...saying that a person would need more than 1,000 such scans to reach a dose of radiation equal to a standard chest X-ray. One scan is equal to about 2 to 4 minutes of flying at 30,000 feet"

-- This figure has aleady been disproven and discredited.

The "Shoe Bomber" and the "Underwear Bomber" were complete LIES, FABRICATIONS, SET-UP'S, "STAGED EVENTS" to justify this raping of American citizens and to justify the turning of America into A COMMUNIST, DICTATORSHIP.
This is complete B-S. Don't travel, or just say no to these TSA thugs.

There is one choice only. The Bill of Rights must be upheld. I am not yielding an inch on my rights because Jan Napolitano, John Pistole and her ex boss want to make billions in the government contract business self dealing with our Recovery Act money. It is an outrage. They need to be put in jail for child molesting and child endangerment.

Experts also recommend that while you're at it, you tell your kids the Nazis were only trying to protect their people from racial impurities. Explain that we should always trust authorities.

When I bought my ticket I did not know that this was going to happen. I WOULD NOT have bought a ticket if I knew it was going to be like that!! WHAT DO I DO?!? Can I demand my money back? Will they charge me a fee for doing so?
