Does anyone remember Sal's (later Irv's) Luncheonette on the corner of 5th Ave and 3rd Ave? Does anyone remember the name of the barber who had a barbershop in the same building during the '70s (and maybe earlier), on the 3rd Ave side of the building?
He was Mexican, I believe, and he was in some Spanish-speaking films. I'm 99% sure they were Mexican films. He used to have 8 x 11 photos of himself in the films on the walls of his barbershop. Of course I couldn't see any of them back in those days before VHS/DVD and the internet.
I'd LOVE to see some of his films. lol. If somebody could give me his name I'm sure I could find the names of his films online and almost certainly find some of his films, hopefully subtitled.
If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it. It's been bugging me off and on these past 35 years. lol!! Thanks.
Anyway, I was so sad when Irv's and the barbershop burned down. Not only did I lose the luncheonette where I had spent so many happy hours as a child but I lost the barbershop where I had my first real haircut. I can still recall sitting on the little red padded board he put across the barber chair's arms so I could sit high enough. lol
And I couldn't believe it when they replaced it with a do-it-yourself car wash(???)!

I'm not sure but I believe it was Eppy's Barber Shop and he was Puerto Rican..
