All of this sounds (please forgive me for saying this) just a little too good to be true, and the reason I say this is because my sister has "several broken and missing teeth which NEEDS to be pulled, and MOST of all she NEEDS "dentures" (she will NOT accept the 'screw in kind of dentures', because they scare her too much and she's not sure her 'gums' and the bone can take it) once those teeth are pulled.
So, how can any of what EDP Dental has to offer work for, and benefit her in any way especially since she's NOT working right now? Thanks for your postings and replies.

EDP dental plan is the best in NY but go to AVS dental plan for a good plan in North Carolina if you haven't found one already. I Use EDP for when I am in NY and I use AVS dental plan in Florida, they are similar but EDP has better rates on most treatments.

Maybe EDP is good for check ups and cleaning but i need to get my wisdom tooth pulled and thats the only reason i signed up for EDP and i called every dentist on their list and the most coverage i found was 25% and with that it still cost 3 to 400 dollars which is ridiculous. so in my view EDP sucks and i want my money back!
The best dental plans will not pay more than that for the pulling of wisdom teeth. I have Aetna and I still have to pay out of pocket for this.

I would not recommend this plan as most of the dentist on their website do not accept it anymore. And the ones that do accept it are really bad and unprofessional.

This past year I have had issues with my teeth. I signed up for EDP and thank goodness I did. I have saved hundreds if not a few thousand dollars on all of my dental care. Their customer service team is top notch as well, always courteous. I am so glad my neighbor recommended me to EDP Dental Plan. I will be adding my husband and son to my plan this year. I highly recommend EDP, it really helps.

I live in Howard Beach, Queens and recently lost my dental plan. I need extensive work done, probably dentures or implants. Is there a good dentist from the EDP list anyone can recommend as the dentist I have been using is not on the list. Thanks.

EDP is for NY only, but the same company has a very similar plan for all states outside of NY. The name of the website is Key Dental Plans.

My 88 year old father called them for a plan and they convinced him to
sign up for a 3 year plan. In addition, they said the price was $265.00
but they debited his checking account for over $500.00. When I called
they said it was a processing era. You be the judge

$300 to $400 to have a wisdom tooth pulled is very reasonable. It cost that much to have a break job for your car. Perhaps you should leave that wisdom tooth in.

I needed to see a dentist immediately. Enrolled in EDP and was able to see a dentist the next day. The root to my molar was cracked and I had an infection tooth needed to come out. I paid just under $150. for the extraction, initial visit with xray which I thought was fantastic. Unfortunately I didn't care for the office. It was unbearably cold the 3 times I visited the office and I am usually very warm. I even wore long johns the 2nd time I went and was freezing. Looking for a different dentist.

My brother recommended EDP Dental Plan to me last month. I just used it for the first time yesterday and got a cleaning and check-up from my regular dentist that I have used for the last 15 years, the cleaning came to $29. I always paid $90 for the cleaning before and the check-up was $9, not sure what I normally paid for that(but so far so good).
I am now looking for an Orthodontist on the plan for my son. I live in Deer Park and there are several Orthodontist in the area. I would appreciate if anyone has any experience with Scott Freidman of Island Orthodontics, Joseph Vitagliano of American Orthodontics or any others in the area that are really good. Thanks!!
We used Dr Tichler in West Islip for three of my kids. Wonderful staff, wonderful doctors, payment plans. Good kid friendly atmosphere.

I just lost my company dental insurance but got a repaired crown at my regular dentist just before losing the insurance. Unfortunately I now need a root canal done on that tooth and my dentist recommended a specialist who costs $1,295 to do the job. My regular dentist office plan would only save me $295 off the procedure. I called the specialist back and asked them if they had insurance and they recommended EDP which will save me $350. My regular dentist also takes EDP. Not sure if they are the best as I just purchased and haven't used but am hopeful.

Have EDP and have been pleased with the plan. I go to pure dental in manorville , NY in case anyone is interested in giving them a try. My hygienist Denise is great.
