Powerhouse Gym in Farmingdale pulled the same crap. I hadn't gone in months, so when the New Year came around and the old resolutions crept out of the dusty chest, I see a large dumpster in fron of the gym, now with a different name. Spoke to the guy inside and pretty much said they closed their doors and screwed alot of people out of money. I still had 7 months left on my membership.

The whole family are baby making, living off each other. This does not surprise me, they should have paid all customers who joined, including me. Funny post....do not remember there being an A&P in that location? Thought there was another supermarket
in that location...I know its useless info but cant recall this location.

I did some research online this morning. Turns out Powerhouse Gym in Farmingdale closed their doors back in August of 07.
Granted this shows my lack of motivation to get fit since it was nearly an entire year since I was last there, but still, I had a valid and current membership to their club, and was not once informed they would be shutting down.
Turns out the owners are now re-opening what used to be Synergy Fitness in Farmingdale.
I'm going to call that Attorney General's number and see if they can do anything to help me out. I'll keep posting when I find out more.
