Jeanne, are you still a part of the fb search page? Do you agree it should be open and circulated and the haters ignored? It seems the whole purpose of that page has completely shifted to building up Ida? Do you agree? Or am I just feeling this way since I don't agree with how she has gone about things and I let her past cloud my judgement

Is there a general information page?
WS has closed their thread until anything new comes in
and I am not on FB. And it seemed to have alot of dissention there.

Tom--do you have any sense of where your brother is? Do you think he may be in rehab, a half-way house? The Local has a Members Assistance Program--its possible he may be in a sober house getting his life on track. To the best of your knowledge, does Rob/ did Rob have a sponsor?

I am still a member of the fb group. I don't believe that disclosing why I am no longer an admin will help in any way to find Rob or to benefit this forum. There is no other information page that I'm aware of to keep updated, although I find myself checking here often for updates, and as always, google is my friend, lol.

My hope is that if Rob is out there he contacts someone, anyone, to let family who love him know he is alive. May he be found safe.

Does anyone have a sense of Rob being in one location or do some feel he is moving around from place to place?

Jeanne thanks, I do remeber you and that search. Very honest of you to put your name out there. Just so you know they already know every single person that posts here too. By their real names. And by their real adresses too. That can be changed as well. Most of the facts people are arguing over have been know all along. we do know Rob depended on his phone as his phone book with all his important numbers to call. And he does not have it. But just like evryone of us here if we needed to make a call and were ready to make a call we know where to get the number. He would be just as capable. So kathy and Jason (I'll keep your secret identies secrete for you), when your report back (and again its very good that you do that) we are hoping Rob reaches out to either His mother, His best friend kevin and absoulutly ida as well, so we know he is ok. There are other people he might also reach out to.. We hope the Police are on that list. we hope some one will hear soon.
If you guys see him! tell him to call his FAMILY lets us know he is ok.
Tom, am I misinterpreting your post, or do you believe that Rob is alive somewhere?
I sure hope that is the case. We all have troubles. Some battle demons and addictions, but, there is always hope.

We believe he is alive. Nothing points to anything else.

I once had more hope than I do now that Rob left on his own and would hopefully come forward sooner rather than later. As time goes by I admit I am a little more concerned about what may have happened and if he is okay. But, it isn't over until it's over, and I will do what I can as a citizen to help find him until he found.

Tom, I was thinking that it might be helpful if we knew certain things about Rob. For example you told us he was proficient at various trades, so finding work would likely no be a problem for him. Good to know.

Does he prefer warm or cold weather? Does he like living near the ocean? Does he prefer suburbs, country, or rural areas? Ida said he liked his creature comforts and wouldn't necessarily jump at the chance of camping. Information like this, so long as you all feel comfortable releasing it, might give us new ideas on where to search.

I thought about the possibility of Rob being in a treatment program. But, if were in recovery and truly working a program, I picture him calling contacting his family one way or another in order to ease their minds. Again, I can't rule anything out. I just doubt it, although it would be a best case scenario.

I hope you are right! I can't seem to understand that if Ida feels he was "taken" ( her Russian mob comment or her comment he may have had trouble with coworkers) why she is still in that home?
Keep your faith, Tom! A lot of people are praying for best possible outcome here.

Jeanne----some treatment programs don't permit nor encourage contact with the outside world----my husband's nephew was in and out of 7 programs before he was 21----one program in particular did not permit visitors until patient had made certain strides in treatment--and there were times he lost privileges like making a phone call or getting a visitor------this would explain how he would be off the radar.

They may not let him have contact , but they would encourage him to call and let his family know where he was. They wouldn't allow police to be looking for him that's for sure.( I worked in a rehab for awhile)

Lisa--- thank you---alot of what I know of rehab is third party-good to have someone with working knowledge.
And stupid question but what the heck--to the besyt of your knowledge, is there a means of financial assistance or financial advice that is provided? I am thinking not so much of paying for treatment, but advising creditors, VISA, MC, mortgage lenders etc.

I mean from what I know patients are encouraged to deal with all of that stuff ( as far as calling and being responsible for bills and what not).
There is so much insurance fraud these days, I'm sure it is possible for him to be under another name? But that person Would be getting bills and statements from Insurance company , have seen it happen though!

Saw that and no response! Why is his union being blamed for not doing it , I'd be selling off my stuff if it was my husband!
And why is someone claiming his union helps child molesters ?!?! Wth is that? That's so wrong!

Is the billboard something you think would be helpful? Is there a way to maybe fundraise for it? I'm not sure how any of this works, but I'm sure maybe coming from your side of the family, maybe it could be done if you put it out there?
Also I know this was asked before, but have you all though about starting a fb page?

What I might do is ask someone like Kelly Murphy, the founder of Project Jason, for suggestions on what may be must helpful in finding a missing family member. I suggested this to Ida last year, and Rob is now on Kelly's web site. Only a family member can add a missing person to Project Jason. Kelly's son, Jason, went missing years ago, and this wonderful lady has helped so many as a result of what she endured.

Maybe Tom, Christine, or Rob's mom can contact Kelly to ask her what in her experience has been most beneficial in helping to find a missing person? I know of two cases I've tried to help with who were fortunate enough to have billboards donated to help solve. Neither case has been solved to date. But, who knows it one day one of those billboards may be key.

If there are other things family and loved ones and those who care can do that are more likely to help than billboards, then heck! Why not put energy into that? Kelly may have a suggestion or two. Maybe it's worth a try.
