I'm sorry for his family; but if he weren't speeding this would have not happened...

People amaze me. It doesn't matter whether or not why he was out driving at that hour or whether he was speeding or not, he died and he has family who has lost a loved one. I was taught if you don't have anything positive to say keep your mouth shut. You should be praying for the parents and family members who lost a child, a baby instead of the negative stuff. We have become a world of non-caring people and it's wrong. Pray as I will pray for you!

If he was hanging out in the Trinidad section of NE, then this was another thug that bit the dust. He probably had alot of nicknames too.

My comments are not intended to be cruel. How many children die in the middle of the night when they should be home? Parents MUST take control and be parents, not best friends. By law a 16 year old may not be driving after midnight, except under certain circumstances. How many more will be killed at 2 and 3 in the morning by guns, cars, knives and OD's?

I am still waiting to hear if the car was stolen. Being a thug, in the Trinidad section, I am almost positive, but then strangers things have happened.

It's always a tragedy when a young life is cut short like this. It seems over the past few years, we've had a veritable epidemic of teen driving deaths in this country. I would like any of the teen drivers reading this to answer a question - what in the world will it take to get young drivers to be more responsible on the roads? How many more of your friends do you have to lose? How many more vigils and funerals do you have to attend? If you really and truly loved these people who are getting killed in accidents, then your best memorial to them would be to drive responsibly. You are our future and we need you.

Agree with you yet again. Speaking from personal experience - I have lost many friends and have been injured myself in a car accident when I first got my license.....Teens today do need to drive responsibly - speed (and not only speed) kills. I see news articles on a daily basis reporting on teen drivers that were killed along with their passengers. We do need them to be careful and be our future.

It is not only teens driving crazy, its the adults too. When I be driving home from work on rockville pike, it is like a race track for when people get off work, rushing, weaving in and out of traffic. They need more police.

Of course you're right, but I was addressing this article and the problem of teen drivers - EVERYONE on the road needs to drive in a responsible manner.
