State Lawmakers Considering Year Round Schools

Jan 30, 2014 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: WRIC-TV Richmond

Not only do some local superintendents think it's a good idea, but superintendents from across the state are supporting it too and say some students do much better without the big break that comes with summer vacation.

Why, so they can teach to the SOL test year round???

SOL's are utterly worthless. The students know it and don't care. Teachers and administrators are forced to teach.

Per SOL baloney, my son, in one semester of history or whatever they call it, from 44 correct answers out of 60, "A student performing at this level should be able to describe causes, development and effects of cultural, political, economic and social events from 1500 to the present; label and describe physical, cultural and historical features on a map from 1500 to the present; and explain the roles and contributions of key figures from 1500 to the present". What a blatant load of BS. I laughed so hard I almost wet myself.

Students will learn more by staying away from such phonies and liars.
