I have heard that there is a big gay and lesbian population in Milford. Is this true? And if so where? My partner and I feel pretty isolated in this area. Would love to meet others.

yea i live in milford and i live down the road from two gay men. they own half of the dimick inn. and i always see gays walkin in town. especially by the art gallery. if u ever went in there you would see what i mean. everything in there is pretty much devoted to gays. but thats about it.

you also have to think, milfords (the town) isnt all that big.. so when u hear one person is gay, the story will grow and then the whole town is gay.

One of the police officers was nice enough to turn us on to one of the gay parties they usually hold at Mount Haven. Only went once; a little over the top for us. Try there or ask one of the cops when they're held.

I've seen plenty of gay couples roaming or shopping the Milford and surrounding areas such as Matamoras. Yes, the Gays I see in the area seem to not have a problem with anyone, Go to the local grocery stores during the day such as Price Chopper in Matamoras or even the Walmart. Fauchere hotel makes the best crosiants by the way..
Not sure if this helps as I am not gay, but I have heard of The Rainbow Alliance which is the largest organization serving the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) community in the Northeastern Pennsylvania region,

Google it and this should help

MissLolly, Matamoras? I don't think so; gays get lumped up down there.

Milford is a gay/lesbian friendly town --- we are part of the landscape here. We just try to "live" like everyone else, so, we don't look for "the gay scene" -- just the regular, everyday scene.

BTW, some of these comments make us sound like "aliens"... they, them???

I am in the process of staring a GLBT Center for the Upper Delaware area which will serve Pike County PA, Sussex County NJ, and Orange and Sullivan Counties in NY. I am hoping to open the Center in Milford. Check our blog at WWW.udglbtcenter.blogspot.com
Comments and feedback as to the kinds of things you would like to see offered would be very helpful.

Yeah, keep it discreet and hopefully the flamers won't be meeting at Shohola Lake where I fish. It's sickening to see them doing their dirty deeds in the picnic area when I'm trying to catch some bass.

Lesbo's are cool, but men with men is just wrong and sick.
