Live outside of a community at your own risk..to your property value and quality of life. Don't get used to the peaceful wooded view from your family room window. I own a home in Delaware township and in a matter of 3 days every last tree was stripped by a lumber company from a multi-acre lot right up to my property line. I now look at a dirt lot with storage units and a turkey mound for septic. As far as landscape buffer to "..preserve the quality of life for county residents.." a hand full of 4' christmas trees spaced 6 feet apart. The lack of an ordinance, to my knowledge, requiring a serious landscape buffer between conflicting use properties is truly troubling. It is especially threatening to those of us not protected within the confines of a Pike County community, speaking with the voice of an association. I didn't move out here to raise my children surrounded by pavement with stunning views of a chain link fence and moving vans.

Well then why did you buy a house on Rte. 739. Anyone could see that that'd all be developed commercially some day.

Living in a community is no different. I understand I can't expect huge forests, but they have begun to put houses on lots barely big enough to fit the construction equipment on. Plus, once inside the community, you not only have to abide by state and federal laws, but also any little bylaw the board could come up with. I've lived in a community all of my 20 years, and it is not as wonderful as you think.
