I always remember the drug store as a wonderful place. The soda fountain, the ice cream sandwiches and the comic books (bought with my shool lunch money) were my favorites. There was always something neat about the store, the front window with the access from inside the store, the tin roof and the building itself. I am please that it is being preserved. I knew Gary and the rest of the family and passing the store onto someone who cares is priceless. Thank you.

On Sunday mornings before church I would stop at the Drug Store. Old Ed Hoffelt would be putting the Sunday papers in the entryway to the store. That would have been in 1957-58. Ed's wife was still alive then. She passed before Ed. I remember Charlie Hoffelt talking about going skinny dipping in PEMONKEY RUN, east of town, in the 1930's when he was a kid. In the early 1960's Charlie was the cop in Estelline. I always said that Charlie would, likely as not, drag race but if he lost, would give you a ticket for speeding.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Taurus

It's no good - the prospect of visiting the post-Christmas sales has become too tempting for you to resist any longer. No matter what you're doing today, you'll try to squeeze in the opportunity to dash around some of your favourite shops and see what's on offer. You could snap up some bargains but you should guard against the urge to splurge on items that you don't really want or need. The price of something may have been slashed but the acid test is whether you'd still buy it if it were full price. If not, leave it in the shop!
