There's little doubt in my mind that Dumler would lose his job in an instant were he a public school teacher. Does it make any sense that because a Supervisor is much higher on the Albemarle County pecking order that he has less accountability than a classroom teacher???

The problem is that the judge has to go by what the statute says, which to my understanding only addresses whether Dumler hasn't been fulfilling his job duties because of the criminal conviction.

The regulations governing employees and elected officials aren't the same.

I think he is a disgrace and should have been gone the day he pled guilty, but unfortunately the law might not be on our side.

As with all elected officials, if you don't want him in, you vote him out in the next election.

It's how the Amercan system works.

It's a shame so many people are throwing their weight behind a frivolous lawsuit instead of waiting 'til the next election and doing things properly.

Well thats the problem, we wait for the next guy to get elected, no matter what office, and hope he does a better job. Of course that never happens. Community outrage like this is what should happen. Unfortunately we reserve it for sickos like this guy while congress goes unmolested day after day.

Problem is, we live in a society of laws. And the LAW says that the way to remove a politician from office isn't waving signs and being rude at meetings - it's voting for the other guy at the end of the first guy's term.

Democracy's a beautiful thing, and it's a shame all these tea partiers are too busy foaming at the mouth about the possibility of misusing a state statute that was passed to remove people who are just plain NOT doing their jobs to recognize that. If you don't like the fact that VA law doesn't allow you to remove someone convicted of sexual battery from office, change the law - don't waste taxpayer dollars on a frivolous lawsuit, sheesh.

Sounds like some lefties here want to run for office so they can plea bargain out of nonconsentual buggery and become their own Dumlers. I can fathom no other reason for defending this... waste of a life.

I tell you what is really making me irate is that the McDonald's at Barracks Road COVERED up a sexual assault against a female employee by a male employee.

Where are the signs in support of that woman? Where is the cry for justice for her?
Why arent there calls to get rid of the management of that store? They cant be effective managers if they support a rapist on their own work crew.

(As I have indicated before), leave Dumler alone and go find something else to whine about. He was not convicted of a felony and has every right to stay on the board. I hope he gets re-elected. Take your signs and shove them....

Well, genius, since he said he is not running for re-election (which in his world might mean he is indeed running), he cannot get re-elected unless you and his other friends mount a write-in campaign.

BTW, is he still on the "board" of the microbrewery down there on Valley Street in Scottsville?
