Most of our problems are due to drugs. There is alot of drug use going on in the county but nothing is being done about it. I could print out a page of people I know using drugs. We need to lock all of them up.

Buckingham is where we live and happy to be here. Recently Buckingham has been on the news for several 'negative' things and I am sorry for that. But I am happy about the drug bust and I am happy that our law enforcement is doing their job. One officer was hit, fortunately it deflective off the vest and into his radio - these people are my neighbors & friends too, risking their lives. did you know the man dead has a violent history and is on the VA sex offender registry? Loss of life is a terrible thing, knowing the officers involved, they did what they thought they needed to in order to protect themselves and others on scene.
Too bad Buckingham gets picked on for things that happen everywhere else.

Ok it may be true that drugs were involved but why in the "blip" does everyone have to make that immediate comment. Maybe YOUR name will be the first name on that list you create.

Interesting...you cannot mention the very public fact that the person who lives at the same address as the deceased is a convicted rapist. It bothers people that "know" how wonderful he is, and how he would never hurt anyone to hear such a thing. Or, perhaps the people that "know" hes a savior are convicted rapists themselves and don't want their name thrown out as it should be.

PLease call and report these people! Not trying to be rude, but if you know they are, then the only way to stop them is to report it.

If it's the truth, then whoever is on the drug list needs to be reported. Doesn't matter who's name is on it.

The person killed was not a convicted rapist. People put out the wrong name. It's a shame that everyone thinks the person killed is a rapist because of conjecture.

It was not stated that he was...it was assumed he was. I stated that the convicted rapist shared the same address as the victim. Nothing to misinterpret there.

I KNOW the man you speak of and I assure you I'm not a convicted rapist. His case happened all the way back in 1975 and everybody I know that was around back then when it happened have skepticism on whether or not he was guilty. That being said, he was found guilty and was punished and ever since he's been out has been a model citizen. He's paid his debt. You see the man's name on a website and you assume he must be this terrible monster when you couldn't be farther from the truth.

It was said that the deceased was the one on the sex offender list, not that the person on the list lived at the same address. That got switched up after the person was putting it all over facebook that the man on the sex offender list was the one shooting it out with the police, which was entirely fiction. But to people who may have seen the original post without the correction they assumed that the first statement about the man on the sex registry was the man killed and probably told 2 or 3 people the same thing. Then those 2 people tell 2 people and so on and so on......that's exactly how rumors get started, people speak out before they have all the facts.
