Meanwhile, humans have thrived for centuries putting infants in their OWN beds and rooms . . . I'm inclined to agree that it's HOGWASH.

It may not be hogwash, but it only really affects those who can afford to have a nuclear family with a single breadwinner. I agree it's not pragmatic for the majority of households.
