It's not about race....Other countries don't have these problems because of longer maternity leave and flexible work. Which in turn leads to better marriages, relationships, etc for the parents, which in turns leads to better child who then repeats the same cycle....positive!

It's about uneducated, unstable households with bad parents or parent. Which mostly happen in the lower socioeconomic homes of black and white ghetto's.

And I would love to know what sources you're using to support you conclusion that "other countries don't have these problems"?

SO, the conservatives are correct regarding the importance of intact two-parent families, where one parent- at least - makes the child's development a primary duty.

AND, the progressive are correct regarding the importance of marriage equality, nondiscrimination in the workplace, equal pay for equal work, living wage, etc so that all sorts of families have legal and financial capacity to make the child's development a primary duty.

Wealthy, educated households does not always mean the families therein is stable. You hear more about the lower socioeconomic homes because the news media is not granted free access to the wealthy neighborhoods so they go to the hood for stories.

The doc is "expert" but I say hogwash--children will be fine as long as have loving parent (by genetics, adoption, foster care or childcare provider).

it's a vicious circle
you either ignore it and pay for it with higher higher social costs and crime, or address it
uneducated/unstable tie right in to early development and early education
in this particular case (our topix thread) low income / no income contribute to instability
working several jobs just to make ends meet contributes to neglet at home

That's a problem. Here in VA it would help to have more access to birth control ... however ....

how can they pinpoint this exact thing? no one lives in a vacuum, so the problem with this study is there are too many other factors in a person's life. i don't think this can be determined to be the end all of attachment issues.

I hope this study was not funded by taxes. Why do we need studies to determine common sense approaches? A traditional family with Christian values yields better rounded individuals overall.

They recognize the problem, they just refuse to accept the solutions outside of "just take personal responsibility"' which hasn't been worked.

So what else is new, another study telling us basicly what we already know intuitively. Next we'll have Larry Sabato telling us that most righties come from middle class and lefties come from everywhere.

Good grief. Ok, no parent ever put your kid in daycare then. Wear them on your 24/7. What a load of BS.

Please explain to me why you think it's hard to obtain birth control in the state or country? What a lame excuse. The poorest among us can get free birth control pills at the clinic and you can spit in any direction and hit a condom machine. You say the right has a problem with shooting their feet, the left has a problem with sticking their heads in the sand on every current social issue that is a problem.

More access to birth control.....geeze. It's not about that for you. It's about you wanting the government to pay for a's/s from cradle to grave and you not wanting to face any hardships over bad decisions you might have made.

Its not about the gubment, its about self respect, which there is none in some socio economic cultures, no impulse control.

So people in other socio economic cultures with self respect don't have unprotected sex and have impulse control?
