Well I still fail to see how his sexual transgressions have any effect on his political seat and unless they can prove that he has been incompetent in his duties, then there is no case and just another waste of taxpayers money. The only thing I think this case is going to prove, is how collectively stupid you Virginians really are !

I can only hope that the circuit court judge knows the rules and procedures, and that by having the hearing before the signatures are verified, it doesn't nullify the proceedings. There will be a lot of outraged citizens if they mess this up by not following the letter of the law, and we will then be calling for removal of TWO public officials, not just one.

Prosecutor Doucette from Lynchburg (their Commonwealth's Attorney) is prosecuting another case right now in Suffolk County, VA, so he's got some experience in the matter so far. He is planning to ask for a continuance so he can gather information, explore potential witnesses and so on. I am certain that this will go to court.

I don't want a jailbird serving in a leadership position. He has been convicted of sexual battery. We suspend and expel public school students who commit battery; there is zero tolerance for violence in the schools. There should be zero tolerance for members of the BOS.

He didn't listen to the women when they said "no" he just did what he wanted and committed a crime. Wake up.

A good prosecutor will rip holes in Dumler's veracity. He has told so many lies (remember the one about his so-called death threat being "under investigation" so he could not comment on it? Turns out, the police didn't even talk to him until they asked him to a meeting 5 days later!). Or how about the whopper he told when he said he plead guilty because he didn't have the $100K to fight the case? Turned out to be less than half that. His web sites (he has two) are chock full of non-existent memberships. Or the promises not kept: remember the "vigorous" defense he was going to mount against two ex girlfriends out to get him? Two online surveys were taken, one from a radio station which showed that 84% of the county constituents want him gone and a TV station's said 91% want him to resign, but he says everyone tells him to stay on. Wait until his emails are subpoenaed to prove that. He just says stuff and expects us to believe it. He lied about his guilt and then confessed, he cheated on his girlfriend, and he lied to the people through the press. A good prosecutor (which Doucette is) will rip him apart on the stand. He'll be a fool to go to court over this. Once you open the testimony and evidence can of worms, his "stories" will not hold up.

You mean like biblical morals ? Because IF we all lived by biblical moral then Dumler would have had to marry his victim as commanded by the god character in the old fairytale storybook...Just like our solders would be allowed to marry the virgin pows of their chosing. I won't even bother going into the whole thing about how incest was used to populate the earth....ahh yes great morals indeed !

Sure it does, "twinmom"...if you don't have enough valid signatures, you can't proceed...the only reason why I can see this happening is because the petition fails as a legal document, and under the law it can't be amended by the special prosecutor and even if the trial judge were to allow it, the amended pleading would have to be RESIGNED before it could be filed.

You have absolutely NO CLUE as to what you're talking about...if this prosecutor thinks he can amend a petition that's this legally flawed, even without the added task of having to get all of the signatures all over again, he's cracked...and so would you be, also...with all due respect, of course.

And Virginia law doesn't permit removal for the crime he pleaded guilty to...next?

His attorney is going to file a Demurrer, which will be sustained by the court and the matter will be dismissed...It's people like you, talking about something they don't know the legal mechanics of, that give stupid a bad name....with all due respect, of course.

There are three types of lies: Lies, Damn Lies & Statistics. You flaunt the third one like a badge of ignorance!
