I'm an average working guy with two houses in the South Bay, that puts my assets over 1 millions dollars. Hardly something for a grand title in the paper!

$200,000 household income does not make you well off? Welcome to McCain land. Isn't the average househould income in America somewhere around $60K?

She's not as rich now as she's going to be 5 years from now (barring another depression) but she's pretty well off.

There's a big difference between a half million dollar house in the South Bay and one in Wasilla, AK. 500K in the South Bay is a good price; in Wasilla it's one of the most expensive places in town. I don't care how you slice it, making 200K a year is doing pretty well. The woman is the Governor, a six figure salary isn't out of line but she's not exactly living a middle class lifestyle, either.

She wants to ban evolutionary textbooks because the publishers ignore the fact that cavemen and dinosaurs existed at the same time 6700 years ago...if scientists could just get their facts right and stop believing dinosaurs existed over 1M years ago. If I had a $1 every time an evolutionist said dinosaurs lived that long ago, I would be a millionaire just like Sarah.

Dude, you have to watch the Katie Couric interview she did last week. You will not say the same thing. She can't even put together a couple of sentences much less a complete thought. She sounded terrible. The lesser of 2 evils is not a retarded Alaskan soccer mom. Come on. America deserves better.

You must be living in Beverly Hills because only there would a couple making $200k not be considered well off. The average income for families in the US is probably somewhere around $50k at MOST.

The article says Palin gets around $49k to TRAVEL! How much traveling can she possibly doing in a state like Alaska????? Oh look, a moose. FLIGHT. Oh look, Russia. FLIGHT. Oh look, my son's hockey match. FLIGHT. Oh look, my daughter's hospital.

She Sounds well off or very comfortable, but not rich by any sense of the word. More importantly her husband and her worked for this,they didn't steal this and nobody just gave them anything. Fishing for salmon till your fingers are swollen don't seem like very much fun. Land is dirt cheap in alaska so buying as much as you can in hopes it may be worth something someday is smart if you can get the loan.
The cost of living in alaska is so high that even on her well to do salary it brings her lifestyle back to moderate to say the least. Most of you haven't participated in building their own home further securing a loan and permits. The Palin's with the help of friends at least picked up a hammer here and there. Alaska is so huge and so few roads that you don't just jump in the car and go anywhere unless you live near a town!
I could go on and on but it sounds like a fishing expedition to make her sound bad. Let's compare this with a breakdown of Obama's finances and see if there is anything close to a comparison.

One more thing... About travel expenses. It costs a lot more to get from Alaska to Washington and the remote places she needs to visit as Govenor of a region as vast and sparsely populated as Alaska.

I wonder what travel expenses are for Boxer and Feinstein are annually? Let's not forget that Senator Boxer requires a Limousine just to get to the airport. Knowing this I think it is safe to say Barbara isn't flying coach several times a year to Washington. It is common knowledge that senator feinstein and her husbands assets and holdings may far well exceed Senators Boxer and Palin's combined!

Well old Joe Biden is only worth 150,00.00 so I guess Sarah has a lot better financial sense!

A million dollars is not a lot of money folks - especially if most of it is tied up in your residence...not a lot you can do with that. This can explain a big reason we are in this financial crisis, people don't have a clue about finances.
