The so-called "argument over money" regarding this Tragedy consisted in part, of Lewis E Cantrell III, questioning his estranged step mother Gayle as to what was done with his $2,000.00 F.E.M.A. check which he had never received and his small estate Still has never received. Gayle maintained Power Of Attorney over his finances from the time he enlisted in the U.S.Navy until the time of the tragedy. One might ask, "Why ?"
Lewis III had developed Post Taumatic Stress Syndrome and Schizophrenia and was awarded Honorable Discharge after a 4 year stint on Nuclear Submarines. His father and his estranged step mother were fully aware of his requirement of Medication and consistent therapy. His symptoms were Overt, and there was over a year of urgent warning that he needed psychiatric attention prior to the Tragedy.

The "quote/ unquote" Information concerning this tragedy was supplied to the news media by Lewis Cantrell III's estranged, underaged step-brother who has no inkling about mental disorders such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (Military Related), Schizophrenia, and Social Anxiety... or the pain of enduring a mental/emotional disorder without benefit of medications and psychiatric therapy. This estranged underage step-brother also has no concept of the military hardships Lewis III endured.
Lewis Cantrell III enlisted in the U.S. Navy for Trident Nuclear Submarines when he was ONLY 18 YEARS OLD !! He will never have the joy of having his own children. He was HONORABLY DISCHARGED after serving four years on submarines due to clinical depression and additional hardships. Upon returning to Texas he became CERTIFIED AS A LATHE MACHINIST. In his short lifetime he travelled the world with U.S. Submarines, including Scotland and Norway which he loved.
