California officials said Wednesday they are trying to avert the federal government's threat to seize six parks that could be closed to help reduce the state's ballooning budget deficit.

but that doesn't solve the problem. That's just an accounting trick... do you pay thru state taxes or thru federal taxes?

Cutting expenditures is the only way (except raising taxes) to keep parks open.

They are retards and much worse, the whole bunch of them (especially the legislature) for overspending year after year giving out money like it was candy. Now there is no more extra income and the State credit card is long been maxed out.

It's not like Border Field State Park with the Tijuana Sewer, I mean River, running through it is a big tourist attraction anyway. If you went there your biggest worries would be cholera and being mistaken for a smuggler by the Border Patrol. Put a freaking federal penitentiary on it and create a few jobs.
