I don't know much about Daeoc other then the services they offer. Is it a good place to work? Is there chance the place would close due to the economy or is it stronger due to it? Any info would be great! Thanks

It is a state agency, so while it probably won't close completely, it would be subject to the same budget cuts and employment cuts.

DAEOC is not a state agency. It is federal.

I thought it was a independent non profit org.- I undersstand they get local sate and federal grants to help with various needs of the community but who pays their employees?

The website has some job openings for the head start. Just wondering if it was a government job or not.

It is not a good place to work. Talk to people at other Head Starts like Sikeston, Bell City, Dexter, Malden, Portageville. They can fill you in it is a non-profit organization so they may downsize but doubtful--they are in the business of helping low income families. So the income would be pretty secure. LOTS OF DRAMA and employees are basically unhappy with changes constantly...
but hey it is money..and everyone has to have money.
