Youre losing your jobs because of the damn union that YOU ALL just had to vote in, you were warned years ago sooner or later this would happen and you laughed and laughed and still voted for your precious union, well WHO's laughing now, huh, are YOU? Hey here's a thought, instead of sitting at your computer for hours on end, mouthing and slandering who's fault this is that youre losing your jobs, get up off your lazy asses and go look for you another job, youre gonna need it soon.

I've worked for non union factories and didn't have a wage or benefit problem. We had vacations(paid) and insurance we couldn't complain about. If we got new work in, we talked to management and they came out watched us work and we got more money. No problems. Now unions want your money and wont do anything for you. They bitch and moan til they piss the owners off and they move it. Sound familiar?? Get rid of the unions they've been a problem for years. They got greedy like the CEO's. Should of been happy with what you had instead of wanting more more and more. When they shut Brown Shoe down the CEO was making over $800,000(who needs that much to live on??) a year with benefits. He wanted a raise. They found they could make shoes and pay workers $1.50 an hour where we were paid 8-9 an hour; guess who got our jobs?? You complained youself right out of your jobs.

Acctually I've never worked there or put in an application (at Arvin). I did however work for Brown Shoe for 12 years. It was a good plce to work; some of the foremans were asses but that's normal, we worked around them. I wonder why the Mexican's got our jobs and we still can't get rid of them. Maybe if we stop giving them free housing, free food and free medical they'll go away. Was in WalMart a few week's ago, I only had $45 to buy grocries with, there was a Mexican standing at the end of the isle with TWO shopping carts over flowing with food that he paid for with food stamps. I didn't get one half full because I didn't have enough money. How unamerican is that??

Unions were a good thing back before this country had all the labor laws. Now that we have labor laws in place unions are not needed, they tie companies hands so its hard to fire people that don't do their jobs. Unions are not needed in todays work force. Companies will and do offer competitive wages and benefits without unions. Unions only benefit the lazy for a period of time until the company gets fed up and holds a massive layoff or shuts the plants down.

I don't know about your union but mine, If you get sent out to work and the company sends you back because you can't do your job, on the 3rd time you are sent back, you have to go back and re-train on what ever it was you said you could operate but apparently you couldn't. Now I know some of you will bitch and moan about the 3 times out, Will its kind of like this, you never know the company you are sending someone out too, so it could be a smart ass boss that didn't like what you drove up in. I know that sounds pretty far fetched but it happens every day. I kind of think they came up with 3 times is, one mistake for the union, one for the employee and one for the company. I can't say how the unions were 30 years ago but I hear the old timers bitching about all that they are giving up. Today's union is, you do your job to the best of your ability, show up on time everyday and do what you are told IF IT IS SAFE and you can do it, period. It's the share holders that are so greedy that they don't want to take a cut in the profits of 22 to 30% so they move the company out of the states in order to keep that profit margin at its high. One of the main reasons they go over seas is there is no O.S.H.A. laws there. They can work you 15 plus hours a day for 50 cents a hour. We can keep are jobs here if you want to work for 50 cents a hour 15 plus hours a day with no safety rules what so ever or we can STOP BUYING ITEMS FROM COMPANIES THAT MOVE FROM HERE TO OVER SEAS

Will at least two agree..thank you. I hope things will be worked out so that the plant doesn't get shut down, even if it means losing the union. I think then, will people only realize what a good union stands for and when I say good I mean the new unions the ones that keep both parties in mind.
GOOD LUCK

It will, most likely become a regional distribution center because of the central U.S. location with limited manufacturing; just a guess. Good transportation; rail if they wanted it.

As far as where it is headed now; had a supervisor on our line last night write up a person for getting a drink; apparently it wasn't their break time, and apparently the supervisor got off on it. I just keep my nose down and work. Keep your head down is what DeeRay once said.
