A lot of talk for someone outside the cage!!!!

I really dont think you could handle it if you tried....

As for the poster boy comment, he is not a poster boy, just a popular local fighter that happens to train at the sponsored gym....

In this sport, anything can happen and I mean ANYTHING!!!!!

All of the fights that evening were good fights. I was happy for all of the new guys getting their feet wet and the veterans for getting some good match ups....

If you think you can do any better, gimme a call, I would be glad to put you on the card there big boy!!!

I get quite tired of people like you thinking that something local is not good enough, when was the last time you have seen the UFC come to this area??? We donot claim to have the highest dollar production out there, but, we do guarantee good, evenly matched and action packed shows....The fans love it and that is why they keep coming back for more. Here at the AFC, we pride ourselfs on being that one promotion that does care about those that fight for them and this is one of the reasons the guys like fighting for us....

We are locals just like you, so, in the future, you can stay at home, drink that beer and watch you TV....All the rest of us are going to be kicking it at the show and afterwards, getting our groove on at the After Fight Party!!!!

Peace!!

Josh Robinson beat him. That was a really good fight. I have never been to the "local" fights, and i went to Scooters to see it. I was very impressed and plan on being there in December. You can go watch some good quailty fights cheaper than you can go watch a movie and dinner. I see the AFC only getting bigger and better. Keep up the great work in putting this show on.

I'm a big MMA fan but haven't caught any local cards yet. I think if you're gonna talk trash, you should get in the ring. These are local fighters, Anderson Silva is not going to walk out of Fisk and fight the next Royce Gracie from Wappapello! Plus, if it's these fighters first few fights it will take them a while to get accustomed to fighting 1 on 1 in a cage with people watching. It's stressful. But I'll repeat, IF YOU WANNA TALK TRASH, GET IN THE RING PUSSY!

Been involved with Combat Sports(Mainly Boxing) for close to 25 years, whether in the cage or out of it....I have been matchmaking Boxing and MMA fights for the past 5 years or so in S.E. MO....

I will tell you what, I do everything possible to make sure everyone that fights on our cards has training or works out in some way, shape or form....I can't walk them to the gym!!!

I do explain it clearly to all NEW fighters that this is not a fool around sport, this is serious shit with serious consequences...I dont just throw a guy in the cage that I have not fully explained this sport to....

I have turned away allot of guys that thought they were tough enough to do the sport, because they claimed to be "Bad-Ass Street Fighters"!!! I will tell you what, take 5 minutes, stop by The Academy Fight Gym in Moorhouse, MO. roll with one of the guys and see if the sport is really for you....

I match all fighters up as fairly as possible...There is allot more to look at than records....Tis the reason the AFC always has pretty good fight cards, yeah, there have been some fights that were duds....But, I would say that 95%+ have all been good fights...

Please realize, our focus is to get local fighters the exposure and experience to make it to the next level, hence the reason we promote "AMATEUR MMA"!!!!

So, instead of being a bit of a whiner, get out and support these guys, you never know when one of them will be on TV....

As for fighters going to the next level that the AFC has promoted at one time or another....

Eric Irvin, Calvin Cunningham and Jason Aldridge all leave for Chicago at the end of the month to try out for The Ultimate Fighter, Season 9 "The USA vs' The UK".....Hope that answered your question on that part....

Have a good day....

I could not put all I wanted to say on the last post...

First off,

Donny Davis has really put his heart and life into bringing the shows that he does to the local fans that like the live action....

My first question to you is, have you ever been to one of the shows we put on???? Apparently not!!! Can you afford it?? If not, I will get you a ticket!!!

At this level, there are several guys right now that want to go pro, but, we have spoke with them and advised of better routes to go on for a better pro career...Once you jump up to the next level, there is no coming back for extra work....So, be ready when you go there!!

I have watched all the fighters that have started with us here at the AFC, whether it be Beatdown or Pitbull, new teams like Psychosis or Dogs of War....ALL of these fighters will or have developed into fighters....I watched as Bristow went from full out assault to a thinking Tank....Kyle Jones from 250+, losing badly in one fight to his mid 230's and escaping grueling Heel Hook Submissions which normal people would have cried over....Undefeateds getting their first loss to guys getting their first wins...This sport has no predictability and to second guess it only means you dont understand it....

The AFC, Devastation Fight Night, Cage of Honor, Caged Championships, Xtreme Cage Championships, Caged Fury and all the rest of the promotions in the State of Missouri work hard to help these fighters get to the level they want to be at. The fighters DONT make a dime for doing what they love, but still go out there to entertain people like you!!! As I said, dont knock them down, support them and be one of the many that will be watching one of these guys on major broadcasts one of these days....

The female fight we had on the card the other night was KICK ASS!!!! I have never seen a fighter in an armbar, Male or Female, that went that long in an Armbar with her arm bent backwards at a 45 degree angle...That is what we call heart!!! and this is what ALL of these fighters have when they get into the cage....

Hope to here from you with a response....

Great post ! You are exactly right . These guys aren't claiming to be BJ Penn and Chuck lidell , they are just doing it because they love the sport . Same reason guys play in gold tournaments and softball leagues . Not because they think they are tiger Woods but because it is something they love to do . Kinda like getting on here and talking shit . Not because you are a badass just because you love doing it and no one will find out . I'm glad to see the Beatdown guys went 3-0 . I am one of Spider Monkey's biggest fans and hated to see him lose but i'm ure he will learn alot from the fight and will be better because of it . Can't wait to see KY fight Ray in Dec. I think it will be a great match . Unfortunately i stayed home satuday night to watch the Pros fight on Spike and wish like hell i had been at Scooters . Much more entertaining to see this shit in person . I hope you guys keep the shows coming cause we love watching them .

The fights at Scooters in December will be some action packed fights also...

We have Jesse Beal coming up from Blytheville and if you have not seen this guy yet, you are in for a treat!!!!

The KY and Big Ray fight will be very good....

Is there any science in this or do these guys just go out and windmill swing away like a tough man contest? I've watched quite a bit of this on TV, I remember when this really first started Grace Jujitsu fighters were king of the ring. It was pretty interesting to watch different styles at that time go at it no holds barred. Some fighters were dissapointing and it seemed like the grapplers were always winners with joint locks and tapouts. A few were slugfests but not many.

There is actually a very strong discipline to those that truly train in the sport....

Those that donot train usually get their asses handed to them....

But, overall, as I said earlier in my post, It is one of the most unpredictable Combative Sports out there today....

Examples to this....

Petruzelli beating the hell out of Kimbo....

Lidell getting Knocked out!!!!

Guys like Uriah Faver ruling his weight class and others getting wins here and there....

You wont see allot of one sided fights as allot of people got disgusted with when it came to boxing....
