So what does everybody think about Southeast Hospital buying Dexter Hospital? I think it's great! Maybe it will be run more efficiently! It couldn't hurt to have a new "paintjob" too to be honest, it's kind of an old building or at least it looks old. I will admit they have some really good nurses and doctors there. The wait in the ER is a little long sometimes. But everybody goes out of their way to help you. Just think of the Commerce this could bring to Dexter and treatment that people have had to drive a long way for before. I just hope it happens sooner rather tthan later.

For one thing higher hospital bills for an x-rays in er $1200.00 for emergency room. Attending dr $600.00. X-rays $135.00 and that's with insurance. I can't afford to get sick, but I can afford to die:-)

Dexter wants nothing to do with "headquarters", sad thing is southeast in cape feels the same way about all their "bandaid shops". They want the name not the employees. You see if Dexter, Doniphan, or any of the others that were "absorbed" by Cape don't have the technology/or capabilities to care for a patient AND THEIR FAMILIES they are obligated under contract to send them to Cape. It makes sense this had happened as St. Francis across town has let in be known they are adding more rooms when in actuality it isn't adding as much since semi private rooms are also rumored to be private which is good for patients, but bad for prices since someone has to pay for a 9 figure addition-AND THE STAFF they will add to care for the patients. I wish you right, dexter local, but I'm siding with Meg on this one-no one wins here but these cape hospitals. BTW-SFMC is supposed to be building a clinic in dexter I believe behind holy cow sometime within the next 3 years, or so the rumor goes.
