She is a good person, not a good DR.... U should get John Patty. She(Carda) delivered my 5 yr old and Patty delivered my 4 yr old. Had a very bad experience with her. I'll spare you the details of it!!!lol
Seriously though....get Patty if u can...he is the absolute best. You won't regret it!!!

Don't use her! Go to someone else. I used her as my OB with my first child, and every time I had to call her she was out of town. A therapist recommended that I go see her about post-partum depression and she didn't even talk to me she just wrote me a prescription, and I didn't have it. I could go on but I'll stop there. Seriously though find someone else.

I worked for the hospital and none of the employees I talked to would use her if that tells you anything! I also know a few people personally who she made MAJOR surgical mistakes on.

i have to agree with dexter. I am using john patty now with my second one. with my first i used carda..i didnt like her at all but i wont go into details about anything. Dr. Patty is spectacular..he answers any questions you may have and takes time to explain things to you..he also takes lots and lots of pics. I would reccomend him to anyone!!!

I can speak from experience. NO

What I have to say about her would be a rather lengthy story. In short, her mistake very nearly caused my child brain damage and/or death. Not only that, but her and the nurse were chatting it up about youth soccer game while I was in labor, and the conversation was getting more attention than I was. Even the other nurse was looking at them like "wtf?"

Making me agitated just remembering it all. I should also mention that my kid was sent immediately to St. Louis after her mistake

Patty YES. Everyone will tell you he's great... long waits though, it's easy to deal with it though.

Dr. Carda delivered all three of my grandkids, and she did an excellent job with each of them. I don't care what others say about her, I'm speaking from personal experience when I say she's wonderful. During each of the 3 pregnancies, she was very attentive and considerate when we went to the appointments & check-ups. She answered all our questions, and she was always very thorough. When it came time for labor & delivery, she was there within minutes each time. Sure, she may have her faults, but tell me a doctor who doesn't. There are always going to be horror stories about doctors, and it seems that no one wants to tell anything good, typically just bad stuff. Well, Dr. Carda's a fine doctor. You should give her a chance.

I used her once and that was enough! She didn't answer questions thoroughly and didn't explain stuff and didn't even tell me the name of my surgery...she was in and out of my room in minutes. I was warned about her as well from a another friend, wish i had listened.

The only thing I can tell you is what I've told everyone else. Make a consultation appointment with her and sit down and talk.....If at the end of that meeting you are not completely comfortable with her thank her for her time and just let her know you will be going with somebody else.

In my opinion and this is only my opinion I would get a Dr. in Cape that is affiliated with St. Francis. They have the best NICU around that possibly if something went wrong they wouldn't have to fly your child to St. Louis like they did mine. Unfortunately, when my daughter was born they were in the middle of building that unit and it was done yet.

just dont use her....i used her for my gyno and without telling all the details...dr. carda started talking about a problem of mine in front of everyone in the hall way and totally embarressed me...at the same time i had a friend using her as the obgyn, dr. carda told her she needed do have a d-n-c done bc the baby was miscarried but my friend went and got a second opinion against dr. cardas wishes and my friends kid is now 4...so i didnt use her i went to dr. john patty when i got pregnant....he was wonderful...always made sure i understood everything, took ultrasounds every time, and ended up saving my daughters life in the delivery room.

I used to go to Carda. My husband and I were trying to have a baby and I went to her because we had been unsuccessful. I also told her that I was have abdomonal pain. She wrote me a script for a fertility drug. I trusted her and took the script as perscribed, no ultrasound for the pain or anything. I was not completely comfortable with it but I'm not a doctor and had seen her several times before with no problems except I did notice she rushed from time to time. The abdomonal pain proceeded to become worse and I was furious that she didn't pay better attention to it when I told her about it. One night it was so bad I almost went to the hospital because I couldn't take it anymore but it started to slowly get better but I still felt sore. So I decided to see Dr. Woolard at St Francis. Come to find out I was pregnant. And the pain was a cyst probably the size of a golf ball that was on my ovary which had burst. Dr. Woolard was surprised it didn't cause me to miscarry. Luckly the baby dropped into my uterus just a day or so before the cyst burst. She really seemed more preoccuppied with getting me pregnant than treating any symptoms. Pregnancy means money money money for her.

Did everything work out for you and you had the baby. I'm so glad that the meds didn't cause you health problems.
