Well it looks like Faurecia is going to layoff 550 people by the end of the summer. They should all thank Travis Gibson for losing their jobs. He showed management how one person could run a line by theirself and not need all the other workers. When you have someone that good layoff 550 lazy people and replace them with 50 people of Travis's ability and save money.

GOOD!!!! this is all the unions fault anyway. I used to work out there and all the union was good for was to protect the lazy ass people that had years of seniority. One year we worked seven days for most of the year and one guy would call off one or two days during the week and had a doctor that would write him and excuse for $10, he would work the sat and sun for double and triple ot. He missed 85 days in that year. First time he got caught w/o and excuse they canned his ass after being their 12 years.

Kathy , I worked there for 4 years and the Lazy Ass people I refer to are the old timers that yell at people to slow down and not work hard, the ones that sit on their ass half the day talking, sabatoge machines to slow production because they do not want to work and be a team player, take naps in cubby holes and basically have an us versus them metality of the union against management and the company that is providing a job and livelyhood for them!!! YES the plant will close down sometime and it will be because the company is tired of fighting the unions on every single issue. The lazy ass people I am talking about are the ones who want to work for 5-6 hours and get paid for 8, and get paid for one and half times per hour than what they are getting. You reap what you sow and the employees are getting what they have been sowing since the plant opened. Thank the union and their we deserve more for doing less mentality for the loss of over 1000 jobs!!

Well if it wasnt for all those lazy ass old timer that slow down production that plant wouldnt have been there for over 35 years and dont blame all this on the union if it wasnt for the union that place would be far worse than it is now. i hate this for all those people but its good for Dexter the want a be"s in that town and dont tell me anything about Dexter i went to school there and live there. so i dont want to hear it, and that plant well close there going to move it over seas thats a fact.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times....
This is just another tragic downfall due to an economic downturn. When this company bought Emcon, it was said that they would only keep this plant open for a short time, six or eight months if I remember correctly. However, they hired people, and tried to work it out for the community, however, then the company saw that there were other places they could produce at and bought into those companies as well, and now they have decided to keep those up and running and the others will soon cease. There are 3 other plants that are also starting lay offs, however, these are starting now, not in March. The Dexter plant will eventually end up becoming a transit shipping annex for the company, some light assembly and that is all. They will end up keeping roughly 325 people within two years, if they keep it open at all. However, there has been word that they will transfer all of the work here to the Memphis facility that they just recently acquired.
This is all information that was shared with the Dexter Chamber of Commerce when they first came to the community. Maybe more should have paid attention then, before running to apply. My advice for all who work there is this, begin looking for job placement now before there are 500- 800 people looking at the same time.

wow, does anyone want to admit that ive made very valid points now ?? just asking... or do we all have to wait till the doors are closed... NON EFFICIENT WORKERS are why this happened, PERIOD... LAZY ASS PEOPLE, PERIOD... Allot do work, but the norm is the us against them attitude, hide in a box, take a nap, get people who really work fired because they make you look like a retard, etc.. Now the ones who have been milking it all these years, months, or days have forced the innocent who wanted to work into paying the price for them being LAZY....
If i can work on a line of 6-8 people and finish EVERY SINGLE NIGHT i worked in 8-9 hours, then please explain how it again takes that same line 12 hours to do what i was helping get done in 8... You all have to admit one of 2 things, either im superman or these people ARE LAZY and MILKING the company, period, no other way to explain it.. 1 line people, add up the time and money... Lets say 6 people on average, when i was on the line it was 40-45 hours for 6 people, before i was there and after i was gone the same line is working 56- 70 hours a week... how many lines does that plant have ?? lets say 10.. 10 lines 6 workers each is 60.. 60 times 15 hours each week overtime is 900 hours at (time & half)= 18per hr x 900 hrs =$16,200.00 per week.. now we all know there are way more than 10 lines.. So let me ask you, if you owned a company where all your employees treated you like this, wouldnt you close the doors too..
But its ok, now they can all sit on their ass and draw unemployment, which causes what ?? duh, economical disaster.... Awwwwwwww, i think its funny to tell the truth.. Now maybe when someone stupid, like me, tries to explain something to the rest of you retards you might listen.. just sayin.. There are WAY more lazy people than there are hard workers, therefor hard workers are out numbered big time, so who do you thinks running things ?? lazy people, forcing hard workers who needed their job to the unemplotment lines...

P.S. that little number comes up to $810,000.00 over 50 weeks.. but lets say 20 lines do it, now were up to 1.6 million a year of wasted money and no production... How do you suppose they pay this ? oh wait, they can overcharge their customer just so you can all bitch at how much that new car cost down the road.... lazzy ass people are the problem with this country, along with the fact we dont need half the crap this country puts out... anyway... good luck with making me look stupid, we all know your gonna try.

Agree, listen to the news as what unions are doing to Cities, Schools, The Government etc. This is not the 1920's and thirties and everyone is not working in Coal Mines. Unions SUCK I can say this because I have been on both sides. Unions make people lazy and hurt our economy.
