Why, when I was a kid. I growd up on a mayonaise farm. We didn't get no reprisals like these kids do now a days. We suffered through the hard times. We lernt the value of a dollar, and lernt to save for the hard times. We'd sweat our backsides off diggin mayonaise jars outta the dirt. When that fancy Miracle Whip started poppin up on your big city store shelves, it sure put a cinch in our under drawers. We had to tighten up. My daddy was so tight you could put a penny in his butt crack and he'd squeeze a quarter out of it. Not like these fancy farm kids now a days.

Farmers are an individualist, entrepreneurial sort of people. They take large risks and invest huge sums of money for land and equipment. In many cases a farmers investment will equal what the average Southeast Missourian makes in 50 to 60 years. They are entitled to make a profit. If existing national and global economic complexities are such that the government needs to subsidize them in order to ensure they are able to feed the world, so be it. Our government subsidizes a great many things that are a hell of a lot less worthy of being subsidized.

I think the heart of this matter with your ilk is beginning to surface. You donít really care that the farmer is being subsidized; you are just pissed because you are not getting any of it. If the farmer was not subsidized he would still make enough money to live in a nice home and drive a nice vehicle. We all would just have to pay more for groceries. The materialistic types among us would still be mad because someone had more than they do.

Look on the bright side. You are not going to live forever. Life is short. You wonít have this grating on you too much longer even if you may a young person. In the meantime you may even find something else that suits your fancy to bitch and complain about.

Hereís something you might want to consider: How about these sorry teachers the educational system is producing? Producing people like you that have no knowledge what-so-ever of economics or business principles. We are into our third generation of illiterate school teachers producing illiterate, uneducated fools. Weíve got the blind leading the blind. Iím tired of subsidizing ignorance. Yours included.

Oh, and you have a nice day. I know I will.

The more I think about your post the more pissed off I get. YOU decided to be a farmer. YOU could subsidize your income by other means, rather than of living off of the tax payer. Sell some of your land, get a job, do what ever it takes other than LIVE OFF THE TAX PAYER. The teachers in these schools pay their taxes. YOU LIVE OFF OF THEM, and the rest of us. You said we are people that have no knowledge of economics or business. REAL business people dont need welfare. No, you are the uneducated ignorant person here. And you sure as hell showed your trump card. IDIOT! GO GET A J.O.B.

I get to play captain obvious again to an uneducated liberal POS, telling a farmer to get a job, when farming is his job and getting paid to do so and contributing to the well being of this nation. Farming subsidies is not welfare, people who get a monthly check to sit on their ass all day and bitch how bad they have it is. You sir are an idiot, and when you eat your vegetarian soy burger, remember it was a farmer who made it possible for you to afford it.

The subsidies need to go. ALL subsidies to all groups. We did not always subsidize farmers. FDR in about 1930 or so. We did not starve before our tax $$ went to pay them to farm or not farm and we won't now if the subsidies stopped.

Ill agree when the subsidies go, so should all the over regulations, taxes and the mountains of redicoulos setbacks and paperwork farms and farmers have to deal with from the government.

Funny how you people are so quick yo bite the hand that feeds you.

Just to be fair, this is the price of one used tractor, be for you guys start freaking out over 5 million over 11 years.

I imagine your going to need a few of these, plus the cost of maintenance and fuel, and other equpiment that is needed. I can see it adding up to a million quickly. This is quite small compared to what I've seen in the corn fields.

Farmers make a choice to apply for subsidies or not. We quit taking them years ago. I know others that want to but just can't turn their backs on the free money. Its like he's getting his so I'm gonna get mine. It's an outdated program that needs to be tossed. It's driving up the price of land. You pull subsidies and watch the price of farm land fall. It does take a large investment to put in a crop but we do it on our own. I would say call your congresswoman to complain but the farmers have her in their back pocket. Farming is just like any other business. If it can't make it on it's own then it needs to fail. Someone will pick up the slack and make it work better. This government has no business in bailing out big banks, auto makers and handing farmers checks each year. It's the truth and every farmer I know knows it.

Mister, thats all you have in your hand is your pecker. This is the reason, or part of the reason our country is in the toilet. A sense of entitlement. YOU OWE ME. I call Bullshit!! No one owes anyone anything. You work for what you have. You dont whine and say the government owes me. In America we have options. If the farming thing aint workin out for ya, sell your land and move on. Get a job, do WHATEVER it takes to support yourself. Screw a bunch of owe me BS. Get off your lazy ass and make it happen. If you dont agree with that then fuk off.

A lot of them are my good friends and for you to belittle them because your jealous of their hard earned wealth Is sad. I pitty you. Im sorry your not a successful human being, but don't be mad at others that have made it in life. Have a good day, hun.
