Hello my name is Sergeant Justin Melcher. I am one of three Marine's that have been given the job of serving Murray as a Marine Corps Recruiter. I am just sending this out to say we at the office are very excited about being in your community and look forward to representing the Marines in Murray. We are located off of Chestnut Street right behind the Hardees. Again thank you for the hospitality we have already experienced and we look forward to a positive partnership. I am sending this out to let people know that we at the station will be hosting a live radio broadcast at our office on the 11th of November to celebrate Veteran's Day. We should have a few events set up and a good opprotunity for the community to come down and interact with the Marines in your community. It should last from 1200-1400.(12pm-2pm) I encourage anyone who may be interested in seeing what the Marine Corps is all about please stop by and sit down and speak with one of the Marines in our office. If you have any questions please respond to this comment. Thank you

I am sending this out as an update to local men and women from Murray who have decided to serve this country as a US Marine. Mr. Nathan Mullins, a senior from Calloway Co. High School has decided to take a place among the Few. If you see Mr. Mullins please thank him for his patriotism and if you would like to see if you have what it takes please feel free to stop by the office and see what it is to earn you place among the Worlds Finest, The United States Marine Corps.

Semper Fi, Sarge! We appreciate what you do for us and our country. So much of what you read on Topix is a waste- it's good that you are using this board to recognize young people who have made a decision to serve.

I really appreciate your support. I think it is important to continue to recognize the men and women who are volunteering to protect our country. Even though I am a Marine, I also have a family who benefits from the selflessness of these people. On the topic of the tattoo shop next door, I went over there the other day and received my first Marine Corps tattoo. I have been in right at seven years and thought it would be appropiate to get my first one done there. Really good work and one of the owners is prior service Navy. I thank you all again.

It has been awhile since I have updated this forum so I have neglected my duties long enough. We have had two more Murray natives make a committment to this country since my last entry. Mr. Jared Harrison, who is a Junior at Calloway County High School, and Mr. Joshua Bauer. Josh grew up in Lyon County and has been attending Murray State for the past few years. Both Jared and Josh are a welcomed addition to our Murray Marine family and please if you see them please shake their hand and offer your support in the upcoming challenge of Marine Corps Boot Camp. As always thank you for time and support of your Marine Corps office here in Murray.

Yes Ladies and Gentlemen the Commandant of the Marine Corps has seen fit to promote me. I noticed that it has been awhile since I have updated the city of Murray on the events of your Marine Corps Office. We have a new face in Murray, Sgt. James is the new recruiter in charge of the Calloway Co. Schools. He is a very eager and very professional Marine. He is from the communications field and should be a valuable resource for the city. Since my last post Mr. Devin Edwards, a senior from Calloway Co. High, has decided to join our Corps. Please, if you see Mr. Edwards please thank him for deciding to join in the defence of our nation. Thank you again for your support and Semper Fi

Since he's defending our nation, I don't guess he'll be sent off to Afghanistan or anywhere else in the middle east?
What's your view on our military stance around the globe? Should we be moving out of some nations? Do you think we are to spread out? Whats the death rate these days over in the middle east? I almost never hear any news about whats going on anymore.

There are Marines currently deployed to a number of places around the world to include the middle east and Afghanistan, so yes the chance of him deploying to a forward area is there. My opinion on our stance is that I have full and complete faith in our leaders and the method in which they use to insure the security of this country and the safety of my family. God willing one day all of the service men and women will be home but, until that day I will still honor those whom are willing to volunteer their service.

SSGT MELCHER, that was a very decent and respectful answer. Much better than the one that I would have given, as I too think that this thread should be about honoring those who decide to serve our country in this capacity. I think "stuff" ought to save the political questions for another thread where they might be more appropriate.

And I say this as a citizen who has the option of having less than complete faith in our leaders and is generally opposed to a lot of the decisions they have made that put America's finest in harms way. Which is a freedom that I have because of men like you.

Please don't ever think that there aren't people who may oppose our foreign engagements that still don't appreciate the service that people like you and the recruits that you announce on this thread have given to our nation. This so-called liberal sure does. Thanks is hardly sufficient but I offer it to you, and them, now anyways.

Daily Horoscope for January 3

Gemini

You are in a dissatisfied mood, and are just spoiling for a fight today. However, be warned that this could backfire on you unpleasantly, especially if you take on superiors at work. At home, everyone is used to your behaviour and they generally make allowances for you, as they will today.
