I had a horrible experience here. I recently took both of my rabbits to Paxton Vet Clinic for spaying and neutering. The staff was not friendly at all (they did not even introduce me to the vet, they just whisked the rabbits away) and I do not think that they are very experienced with rabbits. My female rabbit passed away four days after she was spayed, I think because she was not eating enough. We started syringe feeding her the second day, but she would only eat a very little bit. Every rabbit website warns owners about females becoming depressed and not eating after spays, but Dr. Updike was very dismissive and said that he had never heard of it happening. Six days after the neuter, the sutures came out of the male, so I went to the U of I veterinary hospital and they fixed it up. Dr. Updike might be good for other animals, but he was very condescending to me and does not seem to have much experience with rabbits. I would never take a rabbit to Paxton Vet Clinic again.

I do not hestitate to take my dogs to either the Rantoul Vet or Paxton Vet Clinic. The staff is always friendly and the doctors are terrific! I have had many office visits with Dr Updike and I think he's VERY knowledgeable and VERY friendly. He's definitely gone the "extra" step with our pets. I highly recommend him and Drs Walker and Jones to everyone!

I have been going there for years. I am a licensed rescue. I recommend them to anybody. When I want to spay or neuter an animal, they require me to bring them for a vet visit first so I dont know how it is you are the exception. They know me very well and I still am required to come in first. They have treated sick animals through the rescue for years and each time, it was way below what any other vet would charge and the animals come back to me in such great health. I highly recommend them.

Dr Updike treated the animals from a rescue situation involving over 100 dogs including some in very poor shape. He and his staff were fantastic through it all and reasonably priced. I would never hesitate to take any animal there.

I went there for first time today to have my dogs spayed and never got to meet ANY vet... the lady behind the desk was to busy to answer questions and when I questioned her about it - her response was "I work up front here, I'm not the vet or tech call after 2." Not to pleased with the place -they may do good w/animals but their people skills need help!! So I called after 2 and was told 1 of the dogs was done but not the other - I asked which one and she had no answers for me again and told me to call back at 4. SOOOO I called back at 4 and was told its all done and their resting... thank goodness!!!! As a worried pet parent -they suck at communication...
