Where are the gay nude beaches or any nude beaches on the panhandle?

The Panhandle of Florida has a strong Christian Culture , and that means for the most part , high values , morals, and ethics. Speaking for the folks here, we are opposed to sexual deviance and exhibitionism in public. Yes...we are in the 'dark ages' I know...but at least there is some semblence of sacredness when it comes to the personal issue of ones sexuality. Hope you can appreciate this, as we have all seen what sexual 'freedom' has brought America over the past 5 decades . Regards.

OK, don't expect a gay nude beach in Navarre, but hold the illusion of some moral high ground please. Interesting that the Panhandle of Florida would somehow be known by promotion of high moral values, and ethics, considering the allowance of heterosexual debauchery that is the lifeblood of this area. Whether it be the Hooters down the street, or the line of Gentlemen's clubs along hwy 98 I cannot see any other reason there are no gay establishments other than an immensely backward educational system and intolerance for individual's outside of one's own christian sect.

Dark ages indeed. Well put.

Well, There used to be a nude beach in Navarre, which has since been shut down, not sure if it was targeted towards the gay community specificfally.....But the panhandle is the red-neck riveria, as well as much of the south.....and me being a gay man here all my life. So i agree with JJ ! ;-)

Well, good luck to "navarre." As gay naturists living in the panhandle for over 20 years, my partner and I have seen the halcyon days of being able to spend the entire day naked on our beloved beaches taken away by the right wing evangelical pseudo-Christians who hate and will destroy everyone in their path that does not conform to their demented idea of what this society should be. That rules out everyone who doesn't pretend to think, act, feel, be and say all the right things regardless. This despite the fact that it's the "christians" that are the biggest group of frauds, liars, cheats and hypocrites. We had prayed that enough people would wake up to realize and understand the nature of their blatant discrimination of their unAmerican views but we are convinced they are waging a "christian jihad" against everyone else. "Navarre" might find it helpful to join the fight against these lunatics, bottomless as it may be and help us try to reverse the course we're on and help us claim our right to the beach along with everyone else. But then that would require effort - something it appears only those who feel threatened by the bogey man seem to possess.

the east end of Navarre Beach, the "Middle Pass" that the ocean keeps fillin' back up with sand, is federal property. it is the common property of every American citizen.

Navarre Beach town was pretty and clean when the naturists flocked to it. now that the fundies run it, it's run down and dingy.

bringing back access to what has been established use over 45 years would make this part of paradise desirable again.

if you care about this part of paradise, write a nice, short note suitable to be e-mailed to government officials and public business groups. tell them you would would support a free beach at the east end of Navarre Beach by one of the following:

buying a home or condo on the beach or on the sound side near the bridge, or

renting (how many days a year?) a home or condo or hotel room on the beach or on the sound side near the bridge, or

starting a business on the beach or on the sound side near the beach.

tell them that 45 years of use is "accepted usage."

tell them they should propose, negotiate and implement an agreement with Eglin Air Force base for use of the beach during daylight hours, to be patrolled to prohibit lewd activity, to keep people out of the dunes that are needed by threatened turtles and other wildlife, to keep the beach free of trash, and to provide a safe environment for people who just happen enjoy the sun and wind and water and sand without wearing a bathing suit. if the beach is open to civilians for any reason (and, it is: for fishing and jogging and shell collecting and for swimming-if-clothed), it should be open to all civilians for legal purposes.

but, think about it. there's miles and miles of 'family' beaches along the gulf. what do you think the tourist influx would be if the 50-year-old free beach were re-established east of the fence? and promoted? and patrolled? those of you who couldn't abide bein''round us could sell out at a tidy capital gain. more condos would be built, dilapidated real estate would be rehabilitated and spruced up with the increased rental income, people would buy up and improve the places the storms and simple neglect have done so much damage to. more restaurants to feed us (after dark). more jobs. more cash-flow for businesses. your lazy nephew or brother-in-law could even make a basket of sandwiches or burgers and sell 'em up and down the beach like they do in Europe (at lucrative prices, too).

make the investment, Navarre Beach. do it, and do it right. work out an agreement with Eglin that protects the dunes and wildlife and provides security for families and keeps the trash picked up. make yourself the go-to destination for families and couples and singles who just want to relax in the sun and sand and water the way they came into this world. if bein' fair to your fellow Americans and recognizing their undivided common interest in public land isn't enough incentive, then do it for the dollars. build a bigger parking lot, and sell, sell, sell. let 'em park on the main coast and pay to ride a trolley or ferry over to the beach. they will. i promise. you'll be flooded with tourists with fat wallets (well, when they arrive, anyway) and no casino to watch 'em waste their money in. you won't have to depend on Canadians to haggle with over rent in the winter, or listen to 'em brag about how long their pot of potato soup lasted.

and, before you bang me on the head with your bible (and i'm a Christian, too), remember that the sin in the garden of eden was not that they were naked. God made them naked. their sin was that they were ashamed.

just sayin'.

I find this quote to be of no importance Christian or not! I have found most of the men in the pandhandle area to be sexually deviant!! riding in the woods, meeting at parks and rest areas! You yourself might be in the dark ages with blinders on, myself a gay male who does not and will never engage in such activity due to a high moral value and a level of SELF RESPECT is where I state my comment. Christian I am, judge mental not!!! Sacredness you say, I am insulted! pursueded, come on too, assualted in public restrooms, hiking in the woods only to find men of a heteral sexual nature having sex! Seeing the men at another time in public only to be called Faggot under the breath of contadiction!!!! Get real people, Honesty, openmindedness, acceptance of self is the key. If people want to be nude on the beach, Post a sign warning of this nature and give someone the choice to attend or not!!! If you do not want to be a part of you should always have that choice here in AMERICA!! People, being nude on the beach does not hurt a soul, it may free ones but at any cost it only concerns me when society at large may be of damage! Sex is a act of beauty when shared with love, recreational without responsibility damaging at a societic level! Choose your battles wisely, focus energy in ares where america needs it most, EDUCATION, EQUALITY, UNITY, most of all LOVE and ACCEPTANCE for ALL!!

When Haulover was in the middle of nowhere, Tampa hadn't grown to the size it is now, some business minded people realized that nude beach goers need to have some place to stay and some place to eat. They have made a fortune and increased the tax base of the local area. I am not saying I want Navarre or any other local area to become Tampa. Having a local clothing optional beach is a business that we should consider.

Probably have to travel further to go to a gay nude beach. Maybe places that are popular with gay tourists, like Key West, Fort Lauderdale and South Beach, have gay nude beaches.

Not from around here but keeping gay people out of the pan handle will backfire on you. If the gay community thinks its being pushed out, they will start showing up in force and bring the media with them. This will not help the local businesses, if the media starts calling thePan handle a safe haven for hatred and intolerance, its shore to cause a steep decline in tourism. as an x reporter i know how they love to create a story and they will

Recreational WITH responsibility is the way to go! Use protection! Ask others if they are interested in a hook-up only once you've introduced yourself and asked about their sexuality, if they choose to reveal it! There are right ways to enjoy sex freely!

Don't hide away from sex in fear; don't charge into sex without a thought! Enjoy it completely and freely by understanding how other people feel comfortable with it and what is required to make sex enjoyable and safe for all the participants!

THIS NEEDS TO BE MENTIONED : most christians are against free sex. It's as simple as christians believing that free sex is wrong and fans of it believe it isn't. These beliefs clash directly. You can either agree to disagree or start a big fight. Or you could also read SONG OF SONGS in the bible which is a celebration of excessive promiscuity and intense sexual activity between two lovers, expressed metaphorically.

Personally, I believe in free sex. Use protection to prevent STDs, but I think the best thing to do is have 1-to-3 friends with benefits whom you know don't have STDs and can trust to not gain them. Request proof of this from a genuine medical check of course. You know you're attracted to them and can enjoy each others' bodies as you wish without fear.

Also, as for meeting in parks, forests, or similar... I'm against meeting in public places like this, but it is the only real option for many people in this kind of area. Personally, when I have a living space of my own, I would like to loan part of it out to those wishing to engage in sexual activity so that being trapped without options in an unaccepting society doesn't force them into public. If someone has no other options, I recognize that and don't look down on them. My only requirement is that they show me good character. People who act careless, selfish, etc. won't be allowed to use my loaned space.

I enjoy sex and don't think there's anything wrong with free sex. I also respect the differing views of christians in the area. It's a straight disagreement. My greatest wish is simply to allow individuals to learn about both sides and choose for themselves. Censorship has always been the worst way to decide how to live your life. Education and conscious decision-making have always been the best.
