Are you kidding me, do the natives really think they are above the law? This whole issue needs closure, I thought it was over a long time ago and here it pops up again.

Sounds like it needs investigating. "He was shot in the back while attacking the officer with a knife." Sound impossible to me, but then again, we're talking about the Seminole Police....thy're all egomaniacs who think they're above the law.

yea, well you are listening to sun sentinel again. they dont have all the facts. he was trying to stab an officer and another officer fired in defense. but it doesnt matter, how many times have you had to fire your gun in self defense as a police officer....none. so here you are judging an officer and you dont even know the story. nice....hopefully next time you need help and you call 911 nobody shows up.

No matter what the families attorney and investigators review there "opinion" has already been paid for. Let the Grand Jury who is independent of everyone hear the case and decide. It is unfortunate that this happened for everyone involved.

Alrighty folks! Lets do this again! For those of you that were not there and THINK you know how the scenerio went....STOP your invalid judgement! When you bring a rifle and a knife to a Police encounter, you should plan on getting shot. In the back, in the front, in the head, in the ass, it matters not. Perhaps most of the standard moronic public would have prefered it was the officers that lost there lives. I'm amazed that most you posting here even know how to write!

Why is Robert McDaniel's name always involved in scandal? Formally at FAU Police now here. Sounds fishy to me.

How about Dennis Osceola's actions. Are they going to be "scrutinized" by this looking into this or is it one sided as always?

Thanks Kojak for reminding us what the Sun-Sentinel (conveniently?) forgot to include - that he was armed with a rifle he failed to put down after being requested / ordered to do so. And lets still leave that off and you have an armed (knife) aggresor charging an officer who is defended by a different officer if that is even correct according to the Skew Sentinel. But then again this is the same paper that allows Mayo-sneeze to write article and op piece ad nauseum(sp?) about the airport expansion and only requires him to add one line in one article that he lives in S.E. Dania Beach but that he is not affected by the airport - except that he lives under the flight path for 13/31 (the cross wind runway) and is less than 2 miles (as the noisy jet flies?) from the south runway.

This is a non story. The family's attorneys (who profit from a finding postive to their skewed version of events)and the attorney's investigators are reviewing the files of a shooting in which the family of the armed aggressor intend to file suit against a police department.(=$) The family of a man shot by police officers of the Seminole Police Department who are part of the Seminole Tribe who are rightly enjoying (after many years of poverty and suppression) the windfall of their gaming ventures.(= many $$$$$ available for the out of court settlement)

Mr. Osceola has several pending cases in Broward. I do not see the Sun Sentinel worrying about the victims of his alleged drunken car crash. Or the fact, that like the driver that killed a Sheriff's Deputy, he has been alleged to have been driving on a suspended license. Add to that the possession of cocaine charge.

No, succinctly, it appears that Mr. Osceola's substance abuse demons came home to roost in a terrible moment that will affect his family and the officers involved for a long time to come.

People should not profit off those demons.

Would the muslims ride on horseback or camelback? Also, do we capture the "masked burka wearer" or just pray that they are masked for religious purpose and not merely very ugly?

Also, the Scum-Sentinel doesn't mention that it has been proven that an officer can fire on a subject who is charging at them and that person can turn AFTER the bullet has been fired and be hit in the back.

My thoughts are with this officer and his family as they are put through the wringer dealing with this political bull c. r. a. p. Back "in the day" this would have never been investigated. Common sense: See the police. Drop your weapon.

You don't know jack poop about this incident or you would be spewing s h i t out of your mouth. There was NO weapon found anywhere. First it was a rifle, then a handgun now it's a knife, oh yeah, it was a bat before it was a knife. If you don't work there, haven't worked there you are (obviously by your comment)clueless.

He was also shot in the front. Bet u didn't know that one. You do know that if you get shot in the front you can spin around due to the force of the round. M O R O N. You should look into stuff yourself and not just take all the facts from the news. They don't want you to know the truth.

The man had a history of drug and alcohol abuse. When u attack a police officer with a.knife guess what u lose. The family hires.investagators to.find re police wrong.in the shooting. Guess what the.family knew about the drug problem and did nothing about it. They might as well have shot him themselves. Good.for the officers in doing what they were paid.to do and protect.and serve
