Being a tourist town, there are often times when the locals don't go to bad restaurants, however, these restaurants stay open because of uninformed tourists.
When a bad restaurant closes, a new one will replace it and have an opportunity to be either bad or good.
If you are a local or returning tourist, please post your comments and warn people about bad restaurants so new visitors can make informed choices and don't keep these bad restaurants in business.

I care because I do not only look after myself. You see a chunk of metal in the road, what do YOU do? You drive around it and don't care to think of the next person who's going to hit it. Bad people try and scam people all the time. And if you never warn anybody about potential dangers, then who is going to warn you? Eventually looking after only yourself will leave you cold, bitter and alone.

IDK if it should close or not, but I go to Destin a couple times a year and usually like The Back Porch, but I went there last Saturday night and I've had diarrhea for 3 days now.

The bathroom was nasty as hell and out of soap. I'm sure that since I couldn't wash my hands the cooks couldn't either :(

I said something to the waiter about the soap issue and they didn't even look into it for 45 minutes

We enjoy The Backporch every summer when we visit the beach. Love the blue water and white sand. Can't wait to get back there!!

We ate at the Back Porch tonight. Very good food and service!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AT Joe's Crab Shack. Two nights ago, we waited 1 hour, 15 minutes to be seated and hoping to save time, we ordered our meal when we ordered drinks, then had to wait another hour before food arrived. And when we did get our food, two of the orders were wrong. The manager "graciously" took $10 off of a $90 check. This was the worst eating experience we have ever had!!!! We only left a 10% tip but probably should not have left anything but we thought the problems were not totally the fault of our server.

My bad experience was at the Pancakery. Poor service, I'm sure by now she's fired. Doughy pancakes, eh, cook em longer. Reheated bacon, just needs to be supervised by an actual chef. Reason to close...the owner. He would not come to the table when asked, and when confronted at the door with the problem, he simply shrugged with a half smirk on his face. This person does not respect any customers and therefore should not earn our respect or business.

Elmo's Grill.... good service, the girl couldn't have been nicer, but the food was beyond disgusting! Our bill was over $80.... I would rather eat at McDonalds. I had the scallops... bland and watery inside...the breading (no taste at all) just slid off when you tried to pick one up. The scallops were teeeny tiny and slimy and lukewarm. My husband had some sort of assortment platter, can't remember what it was called he had the same disgusting scallops as I had and a few other things. His came with a crab cake which was actually pretty good, but was smothered in some disgusting sauce which was not mentioned on the menu (or at least we didn't notice it) and was impossible to remove completely, so the entire crab cake was ruined. The fries were pretty gross, too....how do you mess up frozen french fries??? Overall...the items we had were

This is the opposite of what was asked, but I must give huge props to my favorite Destin restaurant: Fat Clemenzas! Oh, my goodness! Best Italian food! Sure, you think of Destin and imagine seafood, but if you want good Italian, try Fat Clemenzas. You will NOT be sorry! Haven't been to Destin in two years, so I assume FC is still going strong. I sure hope so, because we are heading to Destin again in a couple of weeks. Can't wait!!

Bubba Gump's sucked, Floyd's shrimp house was good! Old Bay steamer was good Dewey Destin's was ok.
