Yucca Valley man arrested after crash kills 6-year-old

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Friday on suspicion of driving under the influence following a crash on Highway 62 that left a 6-year-old girl dead, according to the California Highway Patrol.

I WAS IN OUR CAR COMING FROM DINNER AND WE WERE GOING DOWN HWY 62 WHEN THIS CAR CAME UP PRETTY FAST ON OUR LEFT SIDE. I MADE A COMMENT TO MY HUSBAND ABOUT HOW FAST HE WAS GOING AND IT IS PEOPLE LIKE THAT, THAT CAUSE ACCIDENTS. JUST DOWN THE HWY IN FRONT OF BIG MORONGO CANYON THE ACCIDENT WAS. I INSTANTLY RECONIZED THE CAR IN THE ACCIDENT AS THE CAR THAT SPED BY US. IM JUST SADDENED THAT A TRAGEDY HAD TO OCCUR. MY THOUGHTS OUR WITH THE LITTLE GIRLS FAMILY.

How horrible is this... I have noticed alot of accidents in the past 10 yrs. in Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree, even tho I have noticed alot more police in the area. I drive a small Saturn and live in Joshua Tree when Im approaching my turn from the highway onto Hallee Rd.turning left Im telling you I litrally get pushed into the left turn lane by some nimrod behind me that cant wait for me to get out of his way so he can finish barreling down the highway at a high rate of speed. Come on deputies park by Sams Mkt. and you"ll keep very busy saving peoples lives!

They dont respect turn signals or brake lights,but what I found works are flashers on.
They seem to think you are breaking down and going to stopin the road. They always go around me instead now.

I was pulling out of Sam's Market on Hallee Rd and got nailed by a guy who barreled through the intersection. He ran a red light going 60 MPH. People are always flying through JT, the Sheriff's Dept could make a fortune on speeding tickets!
