Illinois House slashes $200 million in Medicaid, rejects other cuts
A day after a coalition of Democratic lawmakers proposed $1.3 billion in cuts in an effort to dig the state out of a $13 billion hole, all but $200 million in cuts on Tuesday were slapped down in various House committees.

Why don't they vote to reduce the pay & benefits of the Illinois lawmakers & possibly eliminate some jobs there too, instead of taking away services needed by people? They might be surprised at how well that will help the deficit.
