How many elections that Jesse and his kids support and help are they going to lose? OCHOA, Periaca, Saviano, Sepulveda, Favela, Godinez, Martinez, and so many others. They are truly the kiss of death!

So true! They pretend to know everything about politics when in reality they know NOTHING! All they are good for is talking crap and acting as if they are martyrs! I have news for you, people of any race are not buying your crap! The only support RMP has is there own families, friends, and the automatic anti-serpico people who will vote for anyone that runs against him. The rest of Melrose is not buying your B.S..
I look forward to MVP destroying them this upcoming election. They won't be heard from for the next four years. Then all of a sudden show there faces and pretend to care about there community. You want facts well there's the facts!!
Respond with all the negativity that you want. Come April 9th you will all shut your mouths for the next I would say 3 years and 9 months!

It's sad really. It's almost like they're actively trying to remain naive. Guess what? If you pal around with, and get advice from, politicians that lose campaigns, you might LOSE your campaign. Just saying. And why is that you might ask? Well here's a few reasons:

1) Said politicians don't know how to "reach" the local voter. They don't understand what's important to that voter. For example, they'll tell voters "this town is wasting money repaving the alleyways", when that voter is thinking "I think that's a good use of money, I like the alleyways". Or they'll start bringing up TIFs and jargon that common citizens don't even understand. Said simply, these politicians like to try to feel and sound smart. So they'll tell everyone and anyone about their political talking points about all the details as to what the current administration is doing wrong. What they NAIVELY (this naive thing is a theme) miss, is that local voters don't CARE about these talking points, and care LESS about all the details and allegations. They look outside their home and think "the alleyways are repaved, the streets are plowed, my kids have a park to play in, I'm happy".

2) Said politicians make politics personal, for themselves. These politicians are where their anger with incumbents so vibrantly on their sleeves that it taints (how about me working that smoothly into a post) their entire credibility. Voters don't hear the "ideas" of how to improve their town. They hear the seething bitterness and jealousy these loser politicians have against the incumbents. As this jealousy helps contribute to these losers losing elections, it only creates a snowball effect, and enhances their jealousy and bitterness going forward. Politics has become a personal vendetta for these politicians. Unfortunately, not in a good way. But in dark and sad way.

3) These politicians spend little to no time actually treating the disease. Instead they treat the symptoms. What does that mean? It means instead of embedding themselves within the community by meeting with people, working with people and businesses, and helping to build infrastructure within a town (i.e. treating the disease), they take the easy way out and try to portray they're actually doing this by doing things like getting trustees that are "lifelong Melrose Parkers", coming up with "ideas" to improve business within the town, and saying (and usually lying) that they're contributing members of local organizations (i.e. treating the symptoms). If you say you want to help the town. If you really want to win an election. You need to embed yourself within the town. You need to create momentum behind you. And then come election day, the will reap the benefits of that hard work and the town will elect you.

Sadly, this bag of clowns, 12 years later, still hasn't figured this out. Or perhaps they have, and they're just too lazy to actually do it. Either way, they're either too NAIVE or too LAZY to merit my vote. Or a majority of the votes for that matter.

You makes some good point but it is obvious that you are a Serpico supporter that has taken politics to a point that I personal even though you preach against this. I am going to vote in the upcoming elections and I disagree with you on the qualifications of these candidates. The Martinez slate has some very good candidates and Jesse makes some good points as I took the time to listen to him twice already. As an independent voter who has nothing personal to gain from supporting MVP or RMP, I will do something that most of you can't or won't. I am voting a split ticket. At this time, I am leaning towards Martinez and Favela but I am still undecided on the Trustees. I am still doing research and waiting for them to knock on my door. For the current trustees, I will evaluate their voting record to see if they have been independent. For the trustee candidates, I will evaluate their connection to the community to see if they are willing to speak for the residents instead if the interest of a mayor or their own personal interest. We independent voters exist and we are not supporting all the candidates on any side.

Hey Jesse I hope your guy seƱor Luis can help u more than he helped Ochoa in Cicero!!! Maybe you should tell Sandy Sifuentes or Aguirre(or what ever she is going by today) to remove the slutty pictures from her Facebook page. Doesn't look good for a woman running on your slate for trustee. She looks like a 3 dollar hooker not a trustee!!

Actually you are wrong. Bobby was the only one that helped Rory and not all of RMP was helping Ochoa some were helping Dominick.

RMP didn't exist till about a year ago. Many of the candidates were not involved in the races that you have mentioned. Remember Jesse has personally won elections in Stone Park and Proviso Township. What about winning candidates that Martinez has supported like Yarbrough, Mazzula, Potter, Yarbrough, Quinn, Quigley, himself and so on?

I heard he also voted for Obama. So he gets credit for that.

Look, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

The point is the core group supporting RMP is the core group losing elections across Chicagoland. That's a fact. Pretty it up all you want but it's a fact. Put lipstick on a pig and it's still a pig.

Well you haven't proven your point because the core group doesn't agree on many things except that Melrose Park needs better leadership. The group has new people who are new to politics and those who have won and lost elections on opposite sides. You have Republicans and Democrats as well as young idealist and old pragmatist. You obviously don't know your competition.

Republicans, democrats, idealists, pragmatists. Wow, it sounds like I'm talking to a real local politician, with your "something for everyone" answer. It's so... Politics 101.

I know the "competition". EVERYone knows the competition. And that's the point. You can keep applying lipstick on that pig. Make that pig look really pretty. But it's still a pig. A loser of a pig.

You guys are a JOKE. Seriously, you are either obscenely naive or in a dark abyss of denial. Either way, you, and your whole group of diverse losers, need to make a change. For your own sake. I'd like to believe you all have fulfilling lives ahead of you that are being put on hold as you chase competence in politics. An exercise that is proving to be infinitely elusive for you.

No one from Jesses band oF misfits helped Dominick. In order for them not to look like they lost another election they are trying to say that some of them helped Dominick? You guys are hilarious. I guess losing does take a toll. Some word of advise, if you guys finally want to back a winner, go for Serpico.

Well said! These guys are such losers!! Good for them, they voted for one or two guys that won, yippee. Doesn't change the fact that THEY'LL never wins because they're complete JOKES.
