Finds it really interesting that the mayors father and the owner of Midwest Ambulance Service (at least as of 2007) have the exact same first and last name. Not sure about the middle names. Are they related?
Gee they have the same name what a coincidence. What's your IQ, like 3?

Sour grapes due to Butches flaming loss?
Not at all. Just interested in finding out what's really behind the suspension and termination in De Soto. I wouldn't exactly call it a flaming loss. Sounds like maybe the whole bunch of grapes may have been a little rotten.

It's quite fascinating how you people make such bizarre assumptions about who is posting here and what their motives for doing so are.

Just trying to point out the obvious and find a correlation in what's taking place because I know there is one.

Sour grapes says it. The corralation is that some volunteers decided they were the boss, tried an end run around the city, and then lied about it. Now their trying to blame everybody else for the spanking they got. My biggest worry about the whole thing is will it rain on August 7.

There's a lot of lessons to be learned here. Unfortunately most of them will be wasted on people too ignorant or stubborn to learn them.

Any of the three candidates could have ended the County Supervisor contest with 1396 votes (35% needed) at the polls on June 8: Ostrander (1312 votes) did very well as a former Independent running as a Republican running against incumbent Ockerman (1348 votes) and former supervisor Chapman (1328 votes), who had the support of Senator Jerry Behn and Representative Ralph Watts. Short of a campaign miracle, Ostrander was doomed with the June 8 results, because convention delegate votes are influenced by the party machine focus on which true blue Republican candidate has the best chance to beat the other party in the coming general election, as well as who has the backing of the party's big name politicians. At the July 24th convention, Ostrander (20 votes) was out in the first round. Kim Chapman, probably because of the influence of Watts and Behn have with the delgates, edged out Ockerman by a 4-vote difference, 53-49 in the second round. Anyone who thing the blogging about DeSoto FD mess cost Ostrander the election is dreaming, not to say an attempt was not made here for that purpose.

Wondering?... if anyone could tell me, Under the place on here where you can hit "Judge", is there not a "[email protected]" button? I just hit clueless for this one, it was faster.

Sure hope there's no plans in the works for trying to privatize the ambulance service in De Soto and / or Adel.

Despite the relatively small difference in the vote count on Jun 8, I am inclined to the same decision unless the Democratic candidate isn't a decent choice. I don't think it was right for the party delegates to go against the choice made at the polls. Anymore it about keeping the party in power, not of,by, and for the people.

Party delegates taking out an incumbent against the popular vote... pretty nasty. I guess party loyalty only works in one direction if you don't play the game.

You know what? It looks like someone needs to grow a pair. If you get into politics you probably better better be ready for at least some criticism. That's just the way it goes. If your skin is too thin for it then politics probably isn't the thing for you.

I've learned that most of people around here don't like the truth either. They use that against you too. So what's a person to do? Lie and get in trouble or tell the truth and still get in trouble? I'm not 100% convinced that the people in question even lied to begin with though. What I am convinced of though is that there's more to the story.

Yes there could be more to the story, but you set this all in motion by doing something that got you in trouble and then lying about it. Take responsibility and cowboy up, it will bring you respect.

"I" did something that got "me" in trouble? Let me reread this story. I must have missed my name in it both times I read it.

Nope, my name still isn't in there!

I'm not surprised by the display of childish behavior and all of the immature comments that have been made here. In fact, it's very telling.
