Don't give me this crap about how great pot is and how it is God's perfect drug. We were hit head on in a crash where someone was high on pot and it is NO different than drinking, prescription narcotics, etc. I think the person should have gone to jail long-term. If we would have actually been killed, he should have gone for life.
Pot is no laughing matter. It is serious business. It needs to be stopped and people need to be punished for having it, selling it, smoking it, or eating it.
What if the guy was eating a sandwich, drinking pop ,talking on the cell phone, reading a book, tired, or putting on make-up which I've seen many women do. I should be able to smoke or eat pot in my own house. What I do in my house is my concern. THE GUY WHO HIT YOU, THAT WAS HIS CHOICE TO GET IN THE CAR AND DRIVE...

When are you law inforcement people gonna come to the realization that you're wasting your time busting marijuana. With the billions spent on this war. Has it helped dampen the supply/demand business model of marijuana. No. You're like a dog chasing it's own tale. Decriminalize it.. regulate it.. and keep the criminals from having the upper hand. Listen to Judge Jim Gray. Maybe he can shed some light on you people that don't know any better. Good grief.

The billions spent goes right into their dirty pigpen pockets. The main groups who want to keep weed illegal are law enforcement.

Cooool Now you are all getting the picture. Law enforcement profits in their prison systems and program funding. If one is busted for simple possesion, their cars are impounded and sold at auction. Those proceeds the go to fund further drug interdiction methods. If they bust a mojor dealer with a ton of cash. After a guilty verdict, that counties sheriff then gets those funds. They then get to buy those fancy new Chargers at 50,000 a pop! Or a brand new Bradley fighting vehicle complete with full armor. DSM just got on two years ago. Why do they need these. Are they afraid of bombs showing up in the middle of fields? Or are they afraid of something else? I am sorry but when someone sparks one, the last thing they want to do is be violent! Ever witness a house raided and who shows up on the front lawns. A whole army.
I remember in the late 70s and early 80s and the images they showed to portraying a terrorist. All dressed in black with a ski mask complete with an AK. Now they carry m16s. Ya see they don't need to show up as the coast guard or army...They are already well armed and capable. It is tactics used. Liek a sledge hammer to swat flies. They thinkl this methods willo allow success through overwhelming force. Are we not still in Iraq? That is why this War on Drugs will self perpetuate..and the gov loves unlimited funding that gives them the power and excuse to rule you, so the gov has an interest to keep this game going and opressing free peoples. Free America is gone.

Do you even know why cannabis was declared illegal in 1937......blacks in dirty jazz clubs and latinos were demonized for using marihuana that led to it's prohibiton prior to 1937. Prior to that the world never had a problem with it.
Though you are partially right, there's a lot more to it.
It was done as a monetary and political power play brought on by a few overly influential people.
It starts with Harry Anslinger who, as the head of the FBN(federal bureau of narcotics), needed a cause to make his agency relevant again. So he enlisted the help of William R. Hearst, media mogul and owner Hearst Publishing, he also had a large interest in pulp which is used to make paper goods.
Hearst, through his outlets, started printing stories and making films of the "demon weed" aka marijuana, and how it ruined lives, turned people evil and/or stupid, and was for all intents and purposes causing the downfall of society (it was just a side benefit for him that minorities enjoyed cannabis). This swayed public opinion as Hearst was a "trusted" source of information.
Anslinger took this "information" and used it, along with some other inaccuracies (i.e. false claims that the AMA supported this legislation and their facts), to get congress to remove the legality of cannabis.
Anslinger wins since now he can be seen as a "hero" and tough on crime, Hearst and the DuPont Corp win because the competition from hemp for paper products is no longer existent.
The game still goes on today. There are still a lot of people who believe the propaganda. The basis of which is to protect the people (the children are used more often than not), when, in reality it is to protect the businesses of those who profit off of prohibition. Law enforcement, alcohol, tobacco, and pharmaceutical sectors would see a lower bottom line (and would therefore be able to contribute less to the political coffers) if cannabis were made available for all who need/want it.
Too bad we have enough sheep in this country, and enough people profitting off of prohibition, that the stigma against cannabis is still attached despite the overwhelming facts that have come out on cannabis' effects on the body, brain, crime and morality. Also the proof that the Gov't had been lying to the public for over 70 years.
Don't believe that they were lying? Look up the reports done by LaGuardia & Shaffer and how they were shelved since they went against the Fed's party line. Even the Tashkin studies did not have the results that the Feds were looking for.
In the end, cannabis prohibition is nothing more than a hypocritical ruse brough on against the American people.

Well, I'm probebly gonna get clobbered by the ANTI-POT folks here, but I'm just a guy in Oregon looking at the posts.Sure looks like the pro-weed crowd is in the majority. And the logic is pretty sound.Calif.and a few other states are gonna vote on legalizing it and it sure looks like a shoo-in.
Gee Dave---what does being gay have to do with this topic ??? are you saying pot makes people gay.
I think the Daves are about to get plowed under.
I think most everyone is tired of the stupid WAR ON WEED.
Hey Rev.Ray Green---nice post and well said.

Holy Moses! C'mon Dave, stimulants, depressents, they're all drugs. If a person suffers from a medical condition and marijuana provides cheaper, safer relief than what is put out by big drug companies, why not?

And drug dealers...

funny how drug dealers and cops want the same thing. Don't prohibitionists worry that they are on the same side as drug dealers and that it should 'maybe' give them cause for concern on their stance?

The illegality of Cannabis inflates its value tremendously to the delight of Cops who confiscate the money and the dealer who makes the money.

Listen to all you losers that know so much about Pot (which is illegal and is a drug). All of you that wat it legalized are a bunch of retards and I feel sorry for your children. Has it not registered in your tiny brains that this is a drug? Idiots.
I believe you are the idiot DAVE. Obviously you've never done your research. Ever heard of Henry Anslinger? the man who basically created prohibition for Marijuana. His claim is that " Reefer makes the darkies think they're as good as white men". Your just another one of those assholes that believes they know what their talking about. Riddle me this Davey, why is marijuana a Schedule 1 drug and crack cocaine is a Schedule 2? meaning only that there are more medicinal purposes for crack cocaine than marijuana. Learn the facts before you ritard yourself further. Thanks

Rev, I think your MS has gone to your head because your arguement to make pot legal is so stupid. Your an idiot and enjoy the rest of your days.
I think the space between your ears are being filled with too much of nothing.

If I'm so stupid for smoking pot? How come I know how to properly use the word your or you're which is short for you are.

Also the word Argument does not have 2 E's in it either.

Smoking pot affects the short term memory, even long term memory. If that makes me a stoned pothead....I plead guilty.

But a dude or chick on the internet calling others stupid in "they're arguement"..LOL...

I just have to point it out to other intelligent folks who might understand how stupid you are....

cause God knows you wouldn't understand it.

LOL try education that wasn't paid for by others. You learn to value things that you actually PAID for.
