Tried to get all the way through your post, but it's too long. But I was able to determine (I think) that you think our country is founded on Biblical principles (assuming you mean the Christian Bible).
Absolutely false. Our founding fathers were very aware of the dangers of mixing civics with religion.(If you recall, that's why the Pilgrims sailed West). Many of our founders were not even Christian, Jefferson foremost among them.

I will agree that many of the principles the US is founded on are consistent with Judeo-Christian precepts, but they are, and should always, remain separated.

The justices made the right decision. It was evidently unpopular. So instead of trying to change the Constitution, we threw a tantrum and voted 3 of the justices off. Whoop de do. Nothing changes, and whether Culver or Branstad replace them, they (1) won't get to redecide the issue, and (2) even if they did they'd come back with the same results.

Everyone lost here.

Thank you for your reply. I want to be clear that I am not trying to convert anyone to Christianity and I am in no way suggesting that was you interpretation of what I said. I do strongly agree with what you said quoting you with the following "I will agree that many of the principles the US is founded on are consistent with Judeo-Christian precepts." All that I am saying is that the foundational thought process behind the structure of what has become our Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights is the Bible, probably not 100%, however most of what is written is a Biblical principal. When declarations were made they were made by people fed up with the government telling them how they had to believe. The people of the time that were writing these documents were people that insisted the Bible was the truth, period. Back then they were not requiring that people believe one way or the other. What they were offering, and still offer today, is the truth and the opportunity for you an me to decide for ourselves what the truth is as it deals with spiritual things. I hope when you make a decision it is made according to a thought process about what it is that you decided. The founding fathers foundation for their decisions was the Bible. It was not a church and implying so is not factual.

We enjoy the freedoms we have today because of the presence of God in His church. We are enjoying the fruits of past righteousness and the mercy and grace of God. There is coming a time when the entity that is the target of your complaint is not going to be present. For a very short period you will have exactly what you want. Only for a very short period. I beg you to please read the Bible, praying to God for wisdom and to be enlightened with the truth. No one will have to know. There are many places you can buy Bibles. There are many places that will give you one free. Just please read it. Eternity is forever. You want to be in God's presence. Believe God and you will.

We also enjoy the freedoms that we have today because of those who have sacrificed to defend the Constitution of the United States, including the ousted judges

Our Founding Fathers used the English Parliament charters as their templates for our Constitution, not the Bible. As stated previously, they were well aware of the dangers of mixing religion with civic affairs, and we can see it now. Religion has divided this country, not made it stronger. Freedom of religion is a powerful right, but it was never meant to become a political force. Churches have a sacred responsibility to care for the sick and poor of our communities -- if only they would utilize their wealth to help decrease the terrible divorce rate, instead of trying to prevent loving committed same-sex couples from civil marriage. Even incarcerated criminals are allowed to marry! Why NOM would spend so much money on trying to prevent tax-paying law-abiding citizens from marrying whomever they want is just a stupid waste of resources. With all that money, why not take your bus around the country and give couples counseling? How about tips on child raising? It's difficult to take your agenda seriously, except for that you just seem to be bent on causing so much harm.

It's because they have one agenda and one agenda only, to block SSM. If it was really about children, they'd see that marriage stabilizes the children of same sex couples. They don't see that hatred is a boomerang. Think of the madness of voting out justices who are guradians of civil rights. One day the unenlightened will be begging back the justices to defend their own rights. Only by that time, it will be too late because they will have voted them out. Only someone who doesn't see that what goes around comes around or just made a mistake marking their ballot would support such an initiative. Unfortunately, taking a civics course is not a prerequisite for voting.

When the Iowa constitution was written and ratified, does anyone seriously think that anyone then thought they were writing into it the “right” of two people of the same sex to marry? Who amended the constitution since that time? Isn't that how changes are supposed to be made to it?

Do these power hungry jurists claim that it is a “living” document, a piece of putty that they can shape according to their own personal preferences and views? Do they claim that the constitution was de facto amended by the “will of the people?” If so, then apparently no one informed the people of this as judged by the results of this vote.

Judges have become tyrants, legislating from the bench and routinely thumbing their noses at the will of the people as they know they can get away with it--untill now!. It is time we restore democracy nationwide. Our founding fathers did not risk and sacrifice so much just so we could be ruled by arrogant elitist judges who bear little if any political risk. Such “courage” they display. Let us restore democracy and let this be the first step in a nationwide campaign to restore power to the people through their *elected representatives*

Now whenever i type my name into the internet web browser it say's my name and part of the conversation my dad and i had. First of all, my Dad is a drunken asshole from the 50's and he does not know how to think. My parents had sex my dad was 16 and my mom was 14. I was abused and beaten up by my parents and by the elementary school principal who grabbed me by the throat and lifted me off the ground in his office and had me up against a brick wall in his office. His face was red from being so angry with me. I was a rebel kid and now that i am an adult i'd like to know how they can justify that. Fucking idiots don't know how to raise a kid like me. I don't like girls i like guys!

My dad dressed up as a woman once and his friend wore a tuxedo. My dad said he went to a gay bar once the Jewel Box, in Kansas City. He said there were all these gay guys dressed up as women. He didn't say drag queens, he said gay guys because he's an idiot!
